Fletch bulked @ 231 lbs
Hey everyone,
I thought I'd put up some updated pics since Skip convinced me it was about time I posted something other than my contest photos.
I am now a much leaner 231 lbs than I was prior to cutting for my show last December.
Most of my "contest definition" has faded away, however I am very satisfied will my appearance and my increased strength.

I have been focusing a lot lately on building up the arms, chest, and traps so that I can actually look like I play the part as a bber in clothes.

You'd think since I live in south FL i'd get out in the sunshine more often. I've considered PH usage, however I'm gonna put at least another year or so in the gym. I'm enjoying have a consistent schedule with work and training that I've never had before.
notice legs still have a couple striations left from the contest. I thought all the Ben & Jerry's would've killed em.

Great job man. I don't know HOW the hell you, skip, and layne stay so damn lean in the offseason, but great job on that man. Your shoulders are looking really good. I agree with all the points that you need to work on, but I'd like to also add work on your back thickness. You have good width, but try to work on the thickness (I have the same damn problem). Keep it up. Later.

Thanks everyone. I've been doing more close grip stuff lately on back day. It's one of those muscle groups where I really "feel" the muscles contract. Probably why it's not a stubborn bodypart for me. Thanks for the suggestion Chris.

Whoa. And I thought said he fattened up a bit (or maybe it was bloated) since his contest. But Fletch, you still look really lean and you look massive! You must tell us what training and diet you are diet, you must!!
What are your goals for your next contest? I dont think you have to lean down as much judging by pics alone. Plus you still got room to grow while still staying lean. Congrats Fletch, you got a new fan.

Looking good "Hitman". Definitely can a difference in the areas which you mentioned. Staying that lean when bulking must make cutting a lot easier.

Thanks SlickRick! Gaining 20 lbs in 2 weeks was a rather traumatic experience after seeing myself so much more defined a few weeks earlier.
Since my show I've been able to better schedule my meals since I'm in a position in life where everything is quite consistent. (eat, work, eat, lift, eat, etc.) I have posted my diet log on the Avant Labs training log section in their forum.
I have been experimenting with a few different training methods and I tend to switch things up every month. I eat low glycemic foods throughout the day and high glycemic during (leucine, glutamine, dextrose) & postworkout (protein shake with banana & dextrose).
I'm looking to get around 240 max and hold that condition until I slowly begin dieting for potentially doing a contest or two next spring/summer. I would like to come on stage 15-20 lbs heavier than I did this year and just as lean. However, the muscular maturity is what I am lacking compared to other competitors who have been competing longer than I have. I'm still a noob to all this and have lots to learn.
To make a long story short......consistency in training, diet, and rest has been what has kept me gaining.

Unfortunately for many bodybuilders, containing one's ego is harder than going through the rituals and tribulations of a diet. LOL

wow ted your looking smooth as a baby's ass...LOL joking bro!
your swelling up bro, keep going and hit it heavy and hard, the fun part is dieting the next time and really finding out how much muscle you had built in the offseason, its quite shocking.

Thanks B-BOY (freakin monster) It was rather shocking to see how quickly I smoothed out in the mirror after my contest. I accepted that I couldn't look like that year round however I wanted to focus on making slow steady gains for the next 8-12 months to be able to jump into the Open Class and look like I belong there with the other NGA freaks that I saw at my comp.

You can think what you want
The reason I haven't posted pics yet is because I am waiting til I hit 220 to do so. I promised myself I wouldn't post any until I was 220 and still lean
you can ask skip about my "tape measure suprise" when I went to visit him if you like. I'm not going to disclose any information at this point
