Looks like he's using the chain an straps as safeties. Does he have the regular safeties as well? If not that will be another expense if you want them.

Yes - he said he has the regular safeties as well, but is including the straps also.

    Did I say that already?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

If you're happy with that rack you need to jump on it! That's a great price on the rack alone plus the extras you're getting. Three hours each way isn't bad. Leave early and be home by noon or so.

And you can have mech make some swing in safeties and monolifts (since I know you want to be like me and have your rack similar to mine)

Awesome! I definitely go back and forth between getting a good deal on a used rack, and biting the bullet for something new. I like the #3171 like Atty has, as I'd like an open top rack for overhead pressing.

Thought about the 3171, but I'm short enough to overhead press inside the rack. You're getting a hell of a deal on the rack

I bought a pair of standard monster j cups for my legend rack which now it turns out I don't even need (Monolift). While the rogue cups fit, they don't fit well as in there is too much play in them and they tilt forward. They don't fit as snugly on the uprights as my standard legend j cups. I'll leave your monos out of it since they fit like a glove.

Unscrew one of the uhmw pieces that go against upright, and shim it. Better to shim the piece that's behind the upright (it's smaller). Anything "non-compressible" will work. Paper, electrical tape... Just add layers.

The rack is a Rae Crowther pro gold (now old version) with Rogue monster monolifts (which fit okay but not really great).

Hi guys - have any of you used the comparatively basic 3121 4 post rack? I don't have room for a 6 post and would prefer a full rack over a half.

I need at least 2 storage pegs for my 45's so would need to add 3903-PS storage pegs which seem to be compatible.

Would add second J Hooks and front spotter arms to have a second work zone.

My concern is around quality of the performance equipment (Pro looks indestructible but out of my price range) - notably the J Hooks looks quite poor with no bar protection? Monster upgrade is eye wateringly expensive.

For info I'm in the U.K. So enjoy a hefty markup and wait compared to you guys in the US!

(Preference at the moment is for another make/brand but it looks like it might be discontinued so looking at other brand options)

I think you're aware that I'm hoping to add a second rack to my gym, my preference is also for a 4 post rack, I like the Performance racks, I've had a quote for the 3133 and the 3121, imported into the UK, the 3121 is only £50 cheaper than the 3133, this, together with a lead time of at least 4 months doesn't make the 3121 a particularly attractive option for me.
I've been doing a little research on 4 post racks, I'll PM you.

Haha yes it has taken me so long to get myself in gear that now you're looking for another rack while I'm still looking for one

I'll check my PM's - any info you have would be hugely appreciated as you have a lot more knowledge of equipment than I do!

I'm surprised to hear that the 3121 is only £50 cheaper given how much less material there is - that pretty much makes it a no-go for me. I'd love to fit a 6 post, but I'm only aware of 2 that would fit my space so I'm better served by a decent 4 post.

    Because tswabash hasn't posted here yet. . . . .
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

How is it you haven't posted in the York Barbell Club thread either, especially with those sweet 70's/80's York plates?
