Mods this thread is not about drugs, drug use or any way of advocating illegal drugs. But drug users..
I can't be the only one going through this.. i grew up in a somewhat wealthy town in Massachusetts.. south shore to be exact..think of Laguna beach but without the homos..
Just lost another friend last week to heroin, this isn't some kid i hung out with once or just one summer..these are kids i grew up with..on the playground, riding bikes, chasing chicks, smoking pot with, having that first beer with.
Gotta go to another funeral, dig out the suit again..this is becoming a monthly routine, ive lost roughly 20 friends of mine..maybe 10 of them i could consider a brothers..
You can only help a person so much, some of my friends have been able to quit..its not so much quitting its the urge to try it for the first time when everyone knows its an automatic death sentance.
Thats all misc, i never rant on here just wanted to let it out.

not sure if srs. If 20 of your friends died because of heroin you're making the wrong friends. No offence dude RIP and all that but an entire score of individuals close to you died from heroin abuse.
Something aint right about that.
I don't even know 20 different people close to me who smoke weed let alone shoot up.

I never got it.
How do you get sucked into doing something as bad for you as heroin?

Trying to get your ideal outcome often leads to the passing up of practical alternatives that deny your adversaries theirs.

It's getting out of control in some wealthy NJ towns as well OP.

Sorry for your loss(es) OP. Opiates suck balls, especially heroin. I was a junkie for a few years but got my chit together and have never looked back. Posts like this allow me to see just how lucky I was that I'm still alive.
The thing is, heroin isn't actually that harmful to your body. Sure, its not good for you, but on the whole, alcohol will do more damage. If doses were regulated and everyone had access to clean gear, the death rate would drop dramatically. The high rate of death is due to the wide array of purity of street heroin and people sharing needles."For monkeys to speak of truth is hubris of the highest degree. Where is it writ large that talking-monkeys should be able to model the cosmos? If a sea urchin or a raccoon were to propose to you that it had a viable truth about the universe, the absurdity of that assertion would be self-evident, but in our case we make an exception."

I had 3 friends OD from that chit back in my early 20s. I'm from an area about 20 minutes from Baltimore City. Tons of that garbage around here.

Not sheriff cereal
Opiates addicts will leave you hungry for life and the withdraw literally feels like you are going to die. All these kids think taking a few pills here and there is fine until they're hooked. And life literally starts to resolve around opiates just to avoid getting sick

Know this feel. Lost a couple friends to Oxy's when FL was passing them out like skittles. I never got into it, but a lot of good people got hooked quick & some were dead within a year. Chit sucks bad, so senseless to see young people die.

I'm a recovering heroin addict. Haven't been a full blown junkie since around 2010, haven't touched H in around a year and I've been 100% clean and sober for 6 and a half months.
I have a lot of friends who weren't so fortunate. Some died from overdoses, others jumped in front of trains or off of bridges. Most of the ones who lived ended up with Hep C. I myself went to jail twice when cops found me ODd in my car after suicide attempts. That drug will steal your soul.

I use to be quite the pothead in high school, but switched friends when I started playing football. Noticed a lot of my old group of friends developed strong drug habits. In and out of treatment, jail, prison and some overdoses. Definitely pretty crazy.

It's been an epidemic in wealthier neighborhoods. Dunno how man. I don't know of any people among my poorer friends who died to heroin.among people in my just 5 mile radius though,? Its stupid.
I think that at this point poorer areas know what heroin does while wealthier areas have kids with far too much disposable I come from their parents trying it, getting hooked and eventually oding because they can never run out of money.
