"It’s a half mile from their Port St. Lucie home. Dominic says it only takes him about 10 to 15 minutes to get there. During the walk, the 7-year-old passed a public pool. Someone there asked him where his mom was.
“They asked me a couple questions and I got scared so I ran off to the park and they called the cops,” says Dominic Guerrisi.
Dominic was playing at the park when an officer pulled up.
“They said ‘where does your mom live,’ ” says Dominic.
Police took him home. That’s when his mom was arrested and charged with child neglect."

Fair enough? The boy looked properly fed, and was able to discern between stranger/friend, and could articulate to police where he lived. Sounds like a well adjusted 7 year old. The boy was taken from his mother for playing in a park a blocks away.
"The bondsman said his parents would have been in jail everyday.". As with probably 95% of all parents.

7 is young as phuck. sorry,
i grew up in a liberal non sheltered home in suburban maryland. small town/community. still at that age your only in the first or second grade tops, I was still being supervised at age 7 lol. could only go to the end of the street pretty much up untill age 9.
she should be arrested, far to easy for a child that age to get hurt/abducted etcReps to all BJJ/grappling/MMA bros.

What does being a well adjusted, well fed child who appears to be in good condition? Everything when trying to charge someone with neglect. Neglect is usually not consistent with someone who let their child go to the community park. If the kid was dirty, malnourished, and appeared to be fleeing his home Then I could see your point. But at this point you're just being a bellend.

Good. As a parent that actually supervises and plays with my kids, I am so fcuking sick of unattended kids everywhere. And I'm not picking on poor people, I think rich people are just as bad about it.
Those kids are always starved for attention from any adult that is around. It's ridiculous, and it puts a burden on any adults that are actually present with their own kids. I don't want to be responsible if someone else's kid is fighting or falls off the monkey bars and breaks an arm. And this kid was 7 but parents do it with kids younger than that.

apples / oranges.
the child is 7 years old lol, that child should be supervised period at that age. the limit would be like playing outfront or outback for a short period of time and even that is pushing it lol. it's just too young, at that age your not that far removed from still chitting and pissing yourself.Reps to all BJJ/grappling/MMA bros.

I understand perfectly how laws work, you on the other hand seek to push some overprotective agenda where you think it's better for a child to become ward of a social institution than being with his mother because she allowed him to play in a park.
By definition Child neglect is.
Child neglect is a form of child maltreatment a deficit in meeting a child's basic needs including the failure to provide basic physical, health care, nutrition, emotional, education and/or safe housing needs.
Where exactly did she fall short?
