    kettle bell questions

i just ordered 3 kettle bells for myself and the woman to use. i just switched away from all-pro's and started stronglifts.

my main goal with kettle bells is to add cardio that i can enjoy. i would also like to use them for exercises which may help to hit areas that stronglifts might be missing and/or to strengthen muscles that would help me be more successful on the main exercises.

who are some well respected kettle bell experts who i can look to for advice; i don't know whose websites are worth reading and who's aren't.

what are some good beginner kettle bell exercises for getting the heart rate up? i haven't done cardio in years.

what are good accessory/complimentary exercises to balance and/or improve the main compound exercises in stronglifts?

    thanks

Read as much stuff from Dan John and Pavel Tsatsouline as you can get your hands on. Kettlebell Simple and Sinister is a great start.

Swings and snatches are great exercises if you are looking to build up some stamina. Snatches require a bit of a learning curve, do them incorrectly you can end up banging your wrists with the kettlebell during the catch phase. Swngs are very simple and usually the first exercise you are introduced to with a kettlebell program.

If you are looking to do cardio, consider non lifting based alternatives....you have a lot of options. I personally feel kettlbells are a bit overrated but the ballistic/dynamic manner of the exercises creates a different training stimulus. Sandbag exercises may be another option you would enjoy.

i'm not able to maintain interest in non-lifting based cardio. and i'm hoping that endurance work with a weight may help me to build stamina and later decide i want to venture out to other things that i currently can't do, like a long bike ride, or an evening jog, because i get winded very easily.
