In a house with decent insulation just shut the windows and it'll probably feel like 20 degrees inside.
You don't have to run a bunch of aircons all day which costs money and fans are useless when it's humid.
You can always add layers. On a hot day you're going to be uncomfortable unless you jump in a pool or find some air conditioning.
People generally stink like chit on a hot day. In cramped places like a lift, bus, train, etc. quality air is hard to come by.
And if you drive a car with a turbo, heat = kryptonite.

During summer in places where it's more of a dry heat than the disgusting humidity further north then what you described is fine.

I was in Cairns a couple of years back staying in a hotel I'd booked for a couple of nights and even at the lowest setting the ducted aircon system was useless. Felt like a sauna.

Queensland is probably fine if you're here as a tourist hanging around the beach but if you're walking around in the middle of the day in work clothes and it's 30C+ and 90%+ humidity, it's not enjoyable.

Anyway May-September is my favourite time of year here. Never gets really cold around the city — maybe lows of 5C.

Australian weather is extreme. It just pierces you. Figure it's the humidity. A mate of mine from Malawi was looking forward to going home for the Summer because it wouldn't be as hot over there, srs.

Lived in NZ. The standard of housing is the worst of any developed country I've been to. Its cold and damp, and the heater does fuk all. So many old folks there die in winter.
