    First week into my cut and I've lost 2.5kg. Doing -500cals on a 40/40/20 macro split. Training like I did on the bulk with no cardio. Measurements are all the same except waist has decreased by an inch. Is this too much loss for one week or do you generally lose a lot of weight during your first week? Should I continue on -500cal or decrease it to -300?

    Generally I'd say you lose a fair bit in your first week, as it's a dramatic shift. Keep at it, and see how you feel.

    Go for another week and if the weight loss is as dramatic as the first, adjust accordingly

    same thing happened to me when i started my diet and i just increase cals

    From my experience usually there's a big drop in the first week, (mainly water weight) then it'll slow down after that.

    That's normal for your first week in deficit. As necon said, it's the water weight that causes a large loss. Stick at the same calorie for another 2 weeks minimum before adjusting anything. You should see a more normal rate of weight loss from this point.
