i love johnny depp and i was as big a fan of the pirates movies as anybody else but lately he's been ****ing up. that transcendence was a waste of his time. dark shadows and rum diary were garbage too. i liked lone ranger but it tanked at the box office. he's definitely not the draw he was in the mid-late 00's

ITT we feel sorry for actors with net worths of $100 million and up.
Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

Robin Williams. Dude is an excellent serious actor (1 hour photo/Insomnia) but wastes his time on stupid comedy's.

IIRC, Will Smith has a "formula", of sorts, to make sure he has A-list, blockbuster movies. He wanted to be a movie star first and an actor second. But the man can act; there's no doubt about it.
"I said, 'I want to be the biggest movie star in the world.'" Lassiter, seeing promise that few others in Hollywood would, took his friend seriously and found a list of the 10 top-grossing movies of all time. "We looked at them and said, O.K., what are the patterns?" Smith recalls. "We realized that 10 out of 10 had special effects. Nine out of 10 had special effects with creatures. Eight out of 10 had special effects with creatures and a love story."
My vote goes to Shia LaBeouf. He is an excellent actor, especially in his early indie films. And then the fame got to him and he went nuts.
If you don't believe me, watch "A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints (2006)." It has Channing Tatum and Robert Downey Jr.. Great film.

EVERYONE posts that one gif... because that's pretty much all there is (in addition to the 2 movies that I listed). Smith type casts himself. Always plays the cawky, yet loveable hero who you want to root for.
Sorry... he just bores me.
Now compare him to guys like Bale, Di Caprio, Depp... guys who go out of their depth and look for challenging roles. No contest really.
See above. Those were decent movies... but not because of Smith. Anyone could have done those roles.
I feel the same way when people talk about Sandra Bullock in "Gravity". Wasn't impressed by her at all. She actually annoyed me lol.
Kilmer was a powerhouse about 20 years ago. His performance in "Tombstone" is still one of the best acting jobs I've ever seen. Period.
Also going to add another one to the list of actors/actresses who talked themselves out of Hollywood.... Katherine Heigl. Supposedly an uber-diva who no one could stand anymore so they shut her career down.

ITT: actors who have had long and successful careers and are probably out of their prime/are not in 10/10 movies every year or have been in a couple duds recently
i mean lol, Russel Crowe? Val Kilmer? Jack Nicholson? Jeff Goldblum? Mel Gibson? Next someone is going to say De Niro is wasting his talent because he hasn't been in a good movie since the 90s.
Real list:
-Edward Norton
-Nic Cage
-Robin Williams
-Daniel Craig (probably Will Smith tier but doesn't try to make non- Bond movies),
-Viggo Mortenson- could be Gary Oldman tier or starring in bigger movies/television
-Ben Affleck (should be writing movies not acting in them)
-Jim Carrey - underrated dramatic acting
-Morgan Freeman- probably has more talent than just being "wise/narrator black guy"
- Tom Hanks before 2013- literally had a decade of chit movies after "Catch me if You Can"Any posts made by me (including those in the past) are purely fictional in nature and by no means is anything I say to be taken seriously.
