Why do you own an assault rifle?

Very few people own an "assault rifle," that term is a misnomer when applied to civilian ownership. Many of us own semi-auto rifles with many of the cosmetic enhancements of true military assault rifles.

first off...assault rifle is not what AR stands for. AR means Armalite rifle which Amralite was the first company to make the M-16. the civilian AR is not an "assault rifle" its just a regular semi auto rifle with a 30 mag or a 100 round drum. pretty much a amped up .22.

There are very few people, even in the US, who own an assault rifle.

But Australia can finally into straight pulls:

straight pulls have always been legal however customs has executive control and has banned importation (banning all straight pulls based on military rifles)
so now that this is being produced domestically it is completely legal, no more do we have to settle for tacticool bolt and pump action rifles

This...lol. To own a legitimate assault rifle legally you have to have a license that is very hard to get, I think it is less than 2% or so of gun owners have actual assault rifles, probably much less than 2% actually

Your quite right, the trajectory is close to the same as well but the 5.56/.223 is much more powerful. it was the first rifle that poped in my head as a comparison

Dont own an actual assault rifle...but I do own an AK47, at least as close to the real thing as I can possibly get (Arsenal)

Was thinking of going AR-15 but I decided Ak was better for me. Never gonna be a good enough shot to use the extra range of the Ar, but that AK power might come in handy one day...plus it is sexy as hell and reliable as fuark.

This, compared to other people in my country i sort of support the yanks gun laws due to seeing illegal guns in my teens and learning how easy they are to obtain for certain people who use them on defenseless people. However "taking a couple down with me" just makes you all look like yee hawing trigger happy cowboys, which im sure your all not.
