    How much caffeine is TOO much?

    Got a question that I've been meaning to ask for awhile now.

    How much caffeine is TOO much caffeine?

    I'm currently doing the EC stack (Ephedrine+Caffeine) and taking 2-3, 200mg caffeine pills a day, with ephedrine.

    But I'm also drinking coffees, taking preworkouts, drinking energy drinks along with this.

    On an average day I would say I take in anywhere between 650mg to 950mg of caffeine

    Look up the toxic dose of caffeine, I believe it's up around 1g a day or so. But yes, I would say you are consuming a lot of it, but is it affecting you negatively? Heart palp's, shakes, etc?

    You sure it's not over this? At a minimum of 400mg from the caffeine tablets, you also say coffees (plural), preworkouts, and energy drinks (plural).

    Damn, that's A LOT you're way over your estimated guess. a 8oz cup of coffee has 80mg at the least, depending on the roast. The lighter the roast the more caffeine it has. Red bull has 80mg per serving, monster has on average 184mg per 16oz serving.

    so let's say you're drinking 2 16oz coffees a day, 2 monsters and 3 tabs...

    that's 600mg for the tabs, 160mg for coffee and 264mg in the monster...you're already at 1044mg and that's without the preworkouts.

    BTW...MP assault has 300mg PER SCOOP

    Although I miss having it to wake me up at work, I have stop drinking coffee. All I do now is have caffeine in the form of a pre workout before I train. Reason being my body isn't used to it then and I get a huge buzz from taking it which lasts for quite a while!

    If I'm drinking coffee through the day before the gym I struggle to get the energy boost from the pre workout.

    I like to sprinkle a little bit of ******* into my pre workout. Really gives me that extra burst i need to get a good workout in. Plus 4-6 rails during my 4 hour gym session, and my lifts have never been better.

    Since you are getting plenty of caffeine from drink I would suggest you stop taking the tablets. You will still be getting the benefits of the EC stack, but without the extreme and likely dangerous amounts of caffeine.

    in pharmacy school we learned that a fatal oral dose of caffeine, in non-tolerant humans, would be 150-200mg/kg. So for me, that'd be 15 - 20 GRAMS.

    i read a couple years back 9grams of caffeine for the average human can become toxic.

    theres some newws going around about starbucks making 60 shot drinks, imagine thats around 4-5grams of caffeine. there are health concerns surrounding it.
