To explain more fully, GPA received a lot of flack for passing high squats in smaller comps, specifically for giving white lights to Zakhir on his 1000kg record total. Perhaps you were thinking back to that total, and that is your reasoning for saying Zakhir was plenty deep enough--which would be true if there hadn't been such a backlash against it. They responded to this by tightening up squat judging at worlds, and thus the red lights on Malan's squat, which was obviously borderline.
So, I doubt they will go easy on lifters, and certainly not Zakhir since he was already banned in GPA for his crazy antics. They will likely be looking to make an example of him if anything. Zakhir has given them trouble on 2 fronts (1) receiving generous judging in a national comp, and (2) disrupting another GPA nationals in Finland to the extent of being banned. So he will probably be judged harshly.
That said, I also would say the judging at GPA Worlds last year was more stringent than the judging at RUM.
Of course, anything is possible--they could loosen things up, but they have been making a concerted effort to do the opposite over the past year or 14 months.

I was not a part of this ***gotry (thank god) but he did give me 2 tshirts lol he called it "naturally strong powerlifters" or something. He wanted all of us on the team to buy the shirts for $30 each.
I know up until a month or so ago he was selling the shirts on ebay. Here's his ebay store: http://www.ebay.com/sch/thehulksmash...1&_ipg=&_from= rather interesting lol
Seriously if you guys met Sohmer in real life you'd be astounded that he's a functional adult. He really is that stupid.
I remember when he was training on my team. He decided to throw himself a surprise birthday party, which he did by starting a ******** event for it. Nobody from the team showed up and he got all upset lol I think that's when he figured out we didn't like him.BlueCollarBarbell.com - Long Island Powerlifting - CAN'T FAKE STRENGTH!

That sounds like a good plan. Do you have an SSB bar available?
I 100% believe they will.
I don't even understand how their shipping is as fast as it is. Their warehouse must be just down the road from me or something and I never knew about it.
Trust me I didn't have to meet him. It was apparent just watching him lift a few times. After I heard him speak it was obvious.

I must be blind as fuxk...Zahir's 460kg did'nt look as bad as everyone here is saying. It was unquestionably high, but nothing outrageous. While it wouldn't pass in a meet he's not THAT far off depth. I was more concerned with the spotter behind him, def. giving him some support.
Either way, I legit think he's gonna make some records fall and prob beat Dan if he can sink his squat. I do like Dan better, but seeing what Zahir's been doing is crazy.Get Big or Die Training - Only the Strong Survive

I think you're correct. To be honest, it’s pretty ridiculous. Depth was about like a lot Eric Lilliebridge’s squats IMO, maybe a tad higher, but he is a weight class below. As far as the back spotter assisting? Lilliebridges also come to mind as well, esp. since they sometimes back spot each other very closely in competition. You won't see training partner's back spotting one another one the training platform at GPA Worlds.
The thing is, he doesn’t need 460 kgs, or even anything close to that to get a good enough lead to beat out Dan Green.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

Ya, its ridiculous. The last couple times I've ordered from there I placed my order around lunch time and had it the next day with standard delivery. Apparently there's a shipping facility about an hour from where I live.

Edit: For all the people who were really concerned about my preworkout decision, I went with something called "scream". And honestly the only reason I decided to get it is because the nutritional label made me laugh: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bo...es/scream.htmlThere is no such thing as 'strong enough'

Let me know how it works out for you. I am a supp junkie of sorts and for some reason scream is the only one that doesn't sit well with me. I like the overall build of it so I bought one of the larger tubs when it first released. I feel like I am going to puke every time I take it. I like the flavor and seems to have good focus/energy for me but every time I am under tension I get nauseous. No supp dumps or anything, just an upset stomach.

I am doing similar, but I have a huge white t-shirt that will have a University of Michigan polo over it....add a couple accessories and you have homeless/jobless Brady Hoke.
It would involve a lot of helium.
It has improved a ton in the past couple years. The last three orders I have made all arrived the next day. Last one I ordered at 4:30 pm Eastern and it was on my door step the next day. Insanely awesome.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

I like to have my opener be my last warmup, I think zmcole said the same. It really is a matter of personal opinion but unless it's a world record scenario I don't see why your opener would ever be heavy enough that it's not a 110% guarantee you'll smoke it.
she can squat to hoff depth for all I care with dat ass.
Anyone see on ******** Ben Puccio and Jamie Lewis have been posting for awhile how they will both do huge weight cuts to go head to head at 181 for RUM? Puccio is like 205, which yea that's a big cut but doable. Jamie is walking around at 220 right now though. I know he's one yolo mfer but that is just nuts."Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! lifting for a pr on the 2nd because you're ensuring another go at it if you miss is already setting your self up for failure. Use your 2nd to see where you're at and then wisely pick your 3rd based on the outcome of your 3rd. If you lift like that in the gym then doing it in a meet is easier. I'd much rather leave a few lbs on the platform because i was afraid to YOLO it on a 3rd than YOLO it and miss out on 20-40lbs to my total.
OH and your opener should be super easy. A weight you could triple with a rep or two in the tank. I just made a video about this last night.1708 total @220 Raw
Improve my total every time I step on the platform.

I know, I watched your video and that made me think.
What I'm saying is: you do your first attempt as last warm-up, and then second attempt as first attempt (hope that makes sense). Because realistically you shouldn't be missing a conventional second attempt. Thus, it means you can do your usual third attempt as second attempt. Then, if you get it just forgo last attempt. But if not, you have a chance to retake it.
Of course you may miss the heavier first attempt now, and that would mess with you a lot, but I still feel like a good second attempt selection for most should be doable. Like I said before, it's like shifting every attempt back one.
I can see both sides of the argument. And many follow the conventional route. It probably is very unlikely to miss a PR and then make it later. But there still must be some value to the option you have at retaking.202.5/135/245. Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165241801.

Here's my meet video from yesterday's USAPL Georgia State meet. Unfortunately I didn't get to watch Sohmer and Perry Ellis battle it out on Saturday cause I had a wedding to go to.
This was a PR Total and wilks 1829@220 and 506 wilks with squat and deadlift PR's. Came in 2nd place in a really tight 3 person battle. All three of us wilks'd over 500.
