    sumo deadlift form question

When I am setting up for my deadlift, am I supposed to position my shoulders down and back i.e. pinched back before the lift? Might be a stupid question

I prefer to set my shoulders and shoulder blades straight down down down towards the floor while I'm still standing in front of the bar, and keep them locked in that position while I pick up the bar. It makes my arms feel longer on the floor, and the floor is my weak point, so every inch helps noticeably. And the small amount of shoulder roundedness is easy for me to straighten out at the top. YMMV though. Your deadlift Wilks score beats mine by 3 points so I'm probably not the best person to give you advice ...haha

shoulders down and locked, not back and pinched.
