Can I cut quickly as a novice without losing much muscle mass?

So I've been lifting properly now for like 6/7 weeks, I've put on some size and about 15-30kg on my compound lifts. However I took bulking a bit far, and probably overestimated my metabolism eating around 3000-3500 cals per day, I wasn't thin when I started lifting. I'm above 20%bf and really want to get rid of it ASAP so I can get bulking quickly (a lean bulk this time...). Do you think I could drop fat quickly without losing much muscle mass?

    Metabolism is bull****.

Anyway I'm wondering this too, if it's easier to cut hard if you have lifted less.

No, eat at maintenance/100 calorie deficit, keep your proteins high and you should still be able to lose fat and put on muscle. Fat loss isn't gonna be fast tho.

Keep lifting heavy and hit protein and fat minimums, should keep most of your mass.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.
