    Official August 1st to November 1st Weight Loss Challenge

    Simba it is time for a friendly and uplifting competition for those of us who want to go beyond beach body and Super Sayan(DragonBallZ reference).

    The rules as follows:

    -Send your weight to Strobe57 via Private Message (PM) every Friday by 8pm (GMT-8)

    -When you PM him, write your weight in both the title and message so he doesn’t have to open each message to get your weight.

    -If you miss 3 weight-ins, you are out, because it's one, two three strikes and you're out at the old ball game!

    -PM your weight with 1 decimal in pounds (Not kg or stone, sorry, but ain't noboddy got time for that).

    -If you decide to dropout, please PM Strobe57 so he can remove your name.

    And some optional rules:

    -Take a front and side pic of yourself (relaxed) holding a newspaper from the 1st week of the competition and either post them to your bodyspace or just keep it in your computer.

    -Update your Bodyspace stats as often as you can.

    -Posting/Discussions in the thread are encouraged.

    -A little bit of background/rant or whatever else you want to share would be nice.

    -Post your motivational levels as well as your diet and exercise plans.

    Everybody signing up for this thread should make a log like the one in my sig. It's nice to see everybody's progress on their posts and it helps with motivation. I did this for the Jan 1st-March 31st thread and it really helped me seeing it.

    Ive been back at cutting for a few days after slipping up before that. No more compromise. I will get back down to my sig weight!

    been stuck at 195 for the past week. 2000 calories, 45 mins of cardio and weights everyday. Lost 4 lbs initially real quick (water weight) and haven't lost anything since. Hard to do much better than I have been doing. Oh well, stick with the plan.

    I know 2 hours of lifting for 4 times a week is seen as unnecessary and possibly detrimental, but I have been doing this lately. I have been dropping weight and eating about 2500 average a day. I get in about 5 hours of cardio a week. Just throwing it out there as a possibility of getting more work in and eating more calories will help drop weight.

    I have seen good results dropping fat and maintaining muscle.

    Sounds like a YMMV type of thing, also depends on how your sets are like. Strength training tends to take longer than hypertrophy, as I understand it, because the breaks are longer.

    Here is an example from Tuesday:

    Jefferson Deadlift 5 x 5--285 (2 or 3 minute rest for 5 x 5)
    Linear Leg Press 10 x 10--8 Plates (90 sec rest for 10 x 10)
    Pullups 5 x 5--with 20 lbs.
    Bent Over One Arm DB Rows 10 x 10--70's
    Skull Crushers 5 x 5--110
    One Arm Tricep Pulldown 10 x 10--25 lbs.
