OP, you could go ahead and buy a pair of elevators. Those kinds of shoes can boost you a couple of inches and really enhance your confidence out in public. Just grab ones that only increase your height an inch or so, that way people don't REALLY notice when the shoes come off at home. Hopefully by then, whichever girl you're interested in actually likes you instead of that 1 extra inch, and won't care in the long-term.

Look around thoroughly before buying, they come in all designs and styles, and modern elevators are VERY clandestine. You can pretty much not even tell the difference between an elevator sneaker and a regular sneaker.
I know this because one of my best friends is a manlet, and we once spent an entire evening searching for bad ass sneakers for him. I'll tell you that he is completely different now in social settings. He has confidence and most people don't even notice the height difference - but it's definitely there. Usually they comment how he's getting more jacked - he and I usually smile at each other.
