You can close this, I'm not sure if this breaks any rules or not.
But I got prescribed ADD medicine (Aderall) and its the greatest thing ever. I take one and I have these amazing workouts thats feel like I can go on for hours.
But, since I build so much pressure lifting, would the aderall be detrimental to my long term health? My doctor says no, but non powerlifters seem to underestimate powerlifters.

Maybe off topic, but ******** makes me weak as fk. I feel super motivated and focused on it but then i actually get the bar in my hands and everything feels stupid heavy. Being on ******** for a workout takes 50 lbs off my deadlift.
Also it kills your appetite and will make it difficult to sleep.
Also it is banned by a lot of athletic organizations so consult your fed if you compete in a tested fed.
But i doubt you are more likely to have a heart attack because of it than any given preworkout with a lot of stims---Likes front squats more than back squats crew---
---Likes overhead press more than bench press crew---
---Can't argue with deadlifts crew---

Been lifting on ******** for a long time. Only problem I've had is keeping weight on. You'll have to increase your calories to counteract the drug, but at the same time the drug kills your appetite and makes you not want to eat. Aside from that, I perform better while on it. Without my meds I'm so inattentive and scatter-brained that I can't complete a training session. I'll forget what I'm doing in the middle of the gym and take 20 min rest intervals.

IMO, no, vagal maneuvers and ******** both can affect heart rate but since you're not maintaining this pressure for long periods of time it shouldn't be of great concern
******** shouldn't affect your body's ability to return to a normal blood pressure level either since it wouldn't suppress heart rate like other meds
I wouldn't mix with stims to be safe

Does it slow down metabolism? I have noticed change to appetite, but I try to take it only at work when I am very busy and get distracted from eating too much. I find boredom on the weekend to be my main culprit in diet deviation. I have not noticed any correlation in strength positive or negative...

I absolutely love addy, it helps me focus on what I want to do in the gym and keeps me thinking about form and other cues. It has been said it does make you weaker since it's putting more blood in your brain and it makes it hard to get blood and o2 to your muscles where you need it. it also destroys your appetite and dehydrates me bad, BUT since i'm focusing I can rem to keep eating and drinking. Some of my best workouts are on addy, and I of course mix in lots o caffeine too, and as long as your aware of your limits I've never had high bp feeling while lifting.

Honestly, i dont even take the 70mg of vyvanze and 20m of aderall im prescribed, I just take 10mg of aderall 3x a week before I workout. Noticed some dehydration (waking up 5 times a night to get water) But I haven't noticed ANY appetite changes, in fact I took some aderall not too long ago and im starving
