* if you want to know about a plate, ask. Don't order and the complain when you realize there's something on it you don't like. Everything is on the menu as well, so read or ask. If you can't do either don't complain to me because you're ignorant of what you ordered.

* I see a few dozen people every day and work six days a week, chances are unless there is something distinctive about you I don't know what "the usual" is.

* if you get special discounts from the boss tell me BEFORE I ring it up.

* for that matter, if a group wants separate checks tell me before ordering.

I ordered chicken pesto pasta once at a restaurant and when it came it had all bits of red pepper in, which wasn't mentioned at all on the menu. But I didn't complain, just sat there and picked them all out, during which time it went cold. I only mentioned it later when the waiter came and asked if everything was all right.

Anyway if you complain about food and send it back, the kitchen staff spit in it. We all know that.
