The short:
I've seen a few threads and reviews on Titan's "Fitness power rack", but none on the "HD Power Rack 2x3." It appears to be a Rogue R-3 clone. Does anyone have experience with it? This is the Titan rack: xxx.titandistributorsinc.com/default/crossfit-equipment/hd-titan-power-rack-with-2-x3-tubes.html
The long:
I'm looking to upgrade from my Cybex Squat Rack 5571 to a full power rack, because for seated OHP I have to put my back at a bad angle to rack and re-rack. My Cybex rack looks like this: xxx.midwestusedfitnessequipment.com/index.php/inventory/strength-equipment/cybex-squat-rack-5571/ My basement ceilings are 82" tall and I have an Ironmaster bench, which complicates cage shopping. I've been watching craigslist in Louisville for months and have only seen one non-Wielder rack, a ppr200x which was 75% of fitness factory's price. I figured if I bought a Rogue bolt together rack, I could cut it short enough to fit and if it had an open back I could use my bench. However, Rogue's racks are out of my budget.
Thanks.

The basement was built at 84" to the rafters, but the current flooring and a future ceiling make it shorter.
According to Titan' specs, it mirrors Rogue's R-3 30" bolt-together rack: both are 11 gauge steel, same dimensions, hardware size, etc. Titan also throws in 2 sets of plate storage bars and includes free shipping. It just seems too good to be true as the same product from Rogue is $840 plus shipping. I don't know the price of steel, but something seems off or Titan is just reselling stuff from China for a very slim margin.

If you don't bolt it down it will be significantly less stable and you would have to be very careful with the band pegs. At the very least do something like http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...#post895472071.

i created an account just to say that ive ordered this rack and it shipped out today. ill give a review on it when it comes, but im very excited. For all interested the price is low because even though they are based out of Memphis, they manufacture in China. bothers me a little, but any rack that i can afford is going to be the same way so might as well get the best one.

Purchased this rack after seeing this thread. Figured I'd post some pics specifically the welds for those interested. If you want a picture of anything specific please let me know. This is my first rack so I can't really compare it to anything else but it seems very solid.

I'm not sure yet but I definitely see what you mean. I could always move the plate storage to the very top and the very bottom so it's out of the way for most lifts but that may be a PITA. We'll have to see. This was the first piece I ordered for my home gym so I'll have to test it out and let you know once my weights and bar get delivered.

That is going to be a very tight fit in that space with a bar on it! I can't see a 7ft bar fitting into what looks like a 7ft space and being able to load it.. even if it does for some reason, getting to the plate storage with loaded bar will be even harder. You might want to move two pins to low on the front uprights in some strategic fashion that allows you to step over the them, pull the heavier plates and load them. The other two could be mount high on the rear with the lighter plates. Also, I don't care what the manufacturer says, that rack needs to be bolted down or braced low to keep it square. If you measure the distance between the uprights at the top, and then the bottom, you'll see the rack is collapsing in at the bottom. I'm not knocking the rack, looks like a great deal. The issue with the rack not being square happens on Rogue racks and other knockoffs (Rogues are knockoffs as well). Bolt it to some plywood or into the floor, it is very easy to do and will make the rack 1000% more solid.
