How To Properly Apply Cologne
Depending on the strength of the cologne, use anywhere from 1 to 5 sprays. Most people go with 2 or 3 sprays. If the strength of the cologne is an 'eau fraiche', you can easily use 3-5, or if the cologne itself is especially light. If the cologne is of parfum strength or is a winter scent, use sparingly. Typically, heavier scents like those should only be sprayed 1 to 2 times.
The cologne in question should be sprayed on pulse points, or points on the body where there is a pulse/vein/major artery. Spraying on this point allows the cologne to develop properly due to it being heated by the pulse point. Some claim this is broscience, but it works well for me and many others. Usual pulse points/application spots include the sides of the neck where the carotid artery is, the base of the neck, the back of the neck (more rarely applied here, good for people to smell you after you pass by), the wrists, the inner elbow inserts, and the back of the knees. Experiment with it and see what works for you.
Cologne Lingo
Split: An event where a host buys a large quantity of a fragrance (usually high end/expensive) and divides it into smaller amounts to make it more affordable for people who dont necessarily want a large amount.
Decant: To divide up a large quantity of liquid into smaller batches.
Flacon: A large stopper bottle or flask. Usually in reference to the large quantity of a fragrance to be decanted into smaller amounts.
Atomizer: A device uses to convert a liquid into a mist. ie. the sprayer on the top of your bottle.
Notes: The description or breakdown of what is smelled within a fragrance. Broken down into 3 stages: 1. Top note (opening), middle note, base note
Gourmand: A fragrance that contains food-based notes. Colognes/perfumes that taste edible. ie. vanilla, mint, chocolate, coffee, cherry.
Projection: The distance a cologne travels. How far away can it be detected?
Longevity: Howm long a cologne lasts.
EDP: Eau de parfum -(8 - 15% perfume oil)
EDT: Eau de toilette -(4 - 10% perfume oil)
Sillage: The trail your fragrance leaves behind.
"Blind buy": To buy a cologne without sampling it or having no exposure to it. (never recommended)

Niche vs. Designer Fragrances
To make a long boring story short, niche versus designer colognes are based on storefronts selling the particular fragrance. Niche colognes are a little more rare/difficult to find. Generally only sold online or at boutiques. Designer fragrances are more popular/easier to find, sold in a lot of popular retailers.

In before the 32nd page for once.
SOTD: Creed Royal Water. Finally figured out how to enjoy this frag. Even out of the atomizer I was applying too much. It became cloying real quick. One light spray to the neck and one on each arm is more than enough.A pattern in the chaos.

In... anyone got some Japon Noir to decant?
On another note, I don't like Green Irish Tweed. Smells super light to me. To be fair, the only other decants I currently own are Tom Ford, but there is just something about GIT that smells cheap to me. I really lived Erolfa though*Praying Zeke Goes for 40 Crew*
