wow, amazing rack pandobearninja! Rogue monster racks are awesome. You wont regret having a 3X3 7ga rack with numbers! The rack posted by Mech6 is mine and i like it a lot! I would not go back to a smaller rack again! 3X3 racks are so sturdy and solid! Even when you are doing dips, the rack does not move at all! Congrats again and enjoy the new rack! And by the way all your setup is wicked! Good job! Thanks for sharing brother

Excellent craftsmanship mech6!! Im thinking they (rogue) eventually will, they are a very good company but what they make up for in quality they lack in creativity. they seem to take the BEST ideas out there and put a stamp on it. not saying I wouldn't eventually put it in my garage lol they have my business
Thanks alex, im glad you like the set up and hope it gives you some good ideas.. Yeah once you go 7 guage 3x3 there is no going back, you make room or you make it fit lol. i always joke that if there was an earthquake or the like, its the safest place in my home, inside the rack.
Hope to inspire brother! now go and get a beast of a rack lolLast edited by Pandobearninja; 07-11-2014 at 12:01 PM. Reason: spelling

I was considering something similar with monster lite rack. With 14 inches between rear vertical members and middle vertical members how much clearance do you have between stored plates and plates on your barbell when racked? I'm glad to hear that rogue is willing to shorten the rear members down from 24 inches. 30 inch squat depth is exactly what I had in mind also. Bad ass rack must have been a workout just building it haha.

I built it bud. it wasnt cheap tho. four 4x8x3/4" plywood on the base, two 4x8x3/4" top grade oak for the top layer and then 3 stall mats cut down the middle. about 400 dollars for everything. screwed everything in. and bolted the rack on top with lag bolts. in all its a 16x8 foot platform 1.5 inches thick. i plan on urethane coating the wood soon
theres about 2 inches between the plates bud. which is plenty. i think the closer the two are the more convenient. yeah i shaved a full 2 feet, and i had the RM4 which was a lot of space! 30 is absolutely perfect. good luck with your rack. contact rogue about it they will make it work for you. i would like to see itinstagram @pandobearninja

They just had a July 4th sale for 25% off and they'll probably do 25% off again at Black Friday. The black Elites (with colored or white ink) are a good deal cheaper than the full color plates (with black or white ink). Like for black 20kg plates, it's $269 and it's $315 for blue colored plate. I just got a set myself and went for black plates with colored ink.

I paiid about 800 in all for the set from mdusa. it was a little over a thousand and there was a 20 percent off event on black friday. also the free shipping that comes with the set was great and they did not charge me sales tax
the price was in the 750 range during july i think for the competition colored set. I dont think anyone can beat that deal
Thanks bud, yeah i picked up a few more and painted it gold/silver like one of the other members here. actually even up close i can't tell the difference in color between the o2b's i refinished and my new omez-h's
actually its about 112 inches, a little over 9 feetinstagram @pandobearninja

Monster Rack Safety Option
Pando - great setup! I also went with the Rogue monster rack, but am sticking with the RM-4. I agree the 30" depth is all you really need, but am used to the 43" now. I'm not pushing as much weight as you, so I invested in all Rogue competition bumpers instead of the additional uprights for storage (not to mention savings some cost and not being smart enough to think of that configuration - got to love 7 gauge bolt together racks). As for the safeties, I spent some time thinking about the straps/flip down/pin and pipe options. I wanted a strong simple solution, but liked the thought of a quieter system.
I ended up going with the pin and pipe, but I covered the pipe with 2" ID rubber/PVC tubing. I got the tubing from Trackor Supply Co. and it is called: Abbott Rubber PVC Pump Suction Hose (I think it was 2" and not 1.5", but am not at home to confirm). It fits like a glove and was easy to get on as long as the hose was circular and not oval. Some sections of the hose can get deformed (becoming more oval) due to sitting too long under pressure. This wouldn't be a problem if this hose was softer, but it is tough and can be a bear to get on if it is deformed. Luckily, Tractor Supply is great to work with and will usually replace/work it you if you have an issue. Anyways, this was the solution I ended up with (simple, strong, and quiet enough) and works pretty well for me and my teenagers. Can't wait to see what you came up with.
