If any movement causes pain in your joints, it's most likely a muscular problem...due to too much weight, poor form, and the inability to activate the muscles properly...as Tom said, "You're probably doing the movement the way that feels right to you, but is actually wrong"...forget about how much weight you are moving...focus on feeling the sensation of the muscles activating properly and then you can start adding on the weight as long as that same sensation is occurring.

Awesome video. Tom probably had more muscular legs than any bodybuilder in history until the early 90s.
+ Thing about knee injuries is that you can usually feel it coming. You won't be doing hack squats like Tom Platz and suddenly your knees explode. You'll feel the wear and tear a long time before that. And if you don't then give them a shot. But if you do, then perform it the traditional fashion.'People are gonna remember me as a god forever... Like-like-like Troy, like Chiles heel, I'm a god forever I'll be remembered for thousands of years to come' - Jason Genova

Amazing video. Huge Platz fan as a kid, I missed his heyday of 80-81 but was still always amazed at his physique and what I read in magazines about his training etc. Im from the day when you didnt know who won Olympia until a month and a half later when the magazine came out and now we have videos like this readily available. Id of killed for it when I was 18 Great post. Tom is still motivating!
