I have been hearing a lot about Glutamine. What does it do? I am going through a cutting cycle right now. Is that a good time to use it? And what are some of the best brands to use? Thanks for any help

glutamine is the most abundent non essential amio acid in the body.
there is a lot of controversy over whether is actually works or not. many people say that when taken orally, glutamine is metabolised before it can even reach the blood stream. still others say that it is the best supplement they take and swear by it.
clearly the benifits or disadvantages of glutamine are not confirmed totally.

I used to waste my money on glutamine when I started working out. But there's enough glutamine and glutamine peptides in most protein powders anyway. I can't see how anyone can justify wasting their money on this stuff over whole foods or protein powder or something.
If you're ultra-concerned about conserving muscle mass on a cut, go with Scivation Xtend as there's added glutamine to their BCAA profile.
