Getting Headrush and blackouts when i get up , is it due to excessive weight loss ?

Hello , I am Syed i am 5 '11' and i weigh 77 kgs ( Sorry i am Indian so measurements are not in pounds and cm ) . I lost 30 pounds in 3 and a half months . I was 90 Kgs heavy back in feb 2014 and now i weigh 77.67 Kgs . Friends my problem is that i am getting dizzy and shaky whenever i stand up . This is going on since 3 or 4 days . Its not a headrush i know because i can feel the weakness in my head sometimes then i blackout and get shaky ( Blackouts Happens like Twice during a day ) whenever i stand up . I am worried its something serious and i will go to my doctor today but i also feel that my weight loss is playing some part in these Shaky dizzy feelings . I had a problem of High BP back in 2012 but i checked my BP last month it was just normal .

So what you guys think shall i stop cutting more weight ?

Try standing up slowly and see if you still get dizzy, it could just be from standing up too quick.

It could be that you are deficient in a certain vitamin/mineral "which can be caused by losing weight on a very strict diet." Are you getting enough micronutrients from food or taking a multivitamin?

Even though your blood pressure is normal, there could still be something making it raise/drop when you stand which could cause you to get dizzy/blackout.

I'm not sure if high cholesterol or other raised/lowered results on a blood test would cause this.

It doesn't seem like it would be a hormonal imbalance because you didn't lose weight extremely fast.

This is all I can think off right now but hopefully you find out what's causing your problem. Good luck to you.

Edit - is your blood sugar good?

Whoa whoa whoa, everyone calm down a second. It's *possible* this guy has some weird metabolic or vitamin issue, but more likely than not he just has some orthostatic hypotension, which just means your BP drops when you change position. How's your hydration, OP? I suspect you've lost a lot of water and haven't replenished yourself well enough. Make sure your water intake is adequate (and make sure you're getting enough electrolytes, too, otherwise the fluid won't actually stay in your blood vessels) and see if that helps your problem.

I would drink more water and increase your calories. How much of a deficit are you on?

When I'm cutting, I often get brief lightheatedness when I stand up from a seated position. It doesn't happen every time, and it only lasts for a few seconds. I just figured it has something to do with being on a calorie restriction.

Same thing happens to me on calorie restriction once in a while particularly if I were fasting entire day. I remember it sometimes happened to me as teenager too. You may want to validate with the doctor but it is most likely nothing to worry about.

And yeah never happened during bulking

Ditto. Doesn't happen to me at maintenance or bulking either. Only when cutting.

    30 lbs in 3-1/2 months isn't that fast, ~1k deficit or 2 lbs/week

Went from ~198 to ~170 at 5'11" which isn't underweight compared to height.

Unless you already have a low bodyfat%, then it would be too fast because of a higher chance to burn muscle.

OP hasnt responded, hope he didnt black out and bust his head open

Regardless this has nothing to do with losing fat, see a doctor.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?
