Buy (or get your parents to buy) the cheap stuff like beans (kidney beans, baked beans, pinto beans, refried beans), frozen vegetables, fruit, rice, pasta, oats, bread, potatoes, greek yoghurt, eggs, cottage cheese, milk, try to find deals on bags of frozen chicken breasts, fish etc.
I know here in the UK, we have a shop called Farmfoods and they have 5KG (5 x 1KG bags) of frozen chicken breasts that come in flavours from plain, barbecue or hot and spicy, only for £15."Quit being a lil' bish!" - Ogus

I used to eat that farmfoods chicken, although it's cheap there a few things you need to avoid:
1) It goes bad after being out the freezer for 2/3 days so be organised and defrost enough for the next day
2) Fry it on a high heat, all the extra water they add make the texture horrible in the oven or grill

I never defrost it, I always cook it from frozen and I find it comes out perfect if you cook it as stated on the back of the packet, still moist when eaten fresh (inb4 typical male) - I have mine for lunch so it kinda goes dry but tbh I don't really care, just eat it anyway haha
