Hi Guys
Havent posted here in a while (been spending alot of time on powerlifting section) so thought I would give you guys an update on my deadlift progression.
Some of you may recall the first time I went for a deadlift 1 rep max (200kg/ 440lbs) and I posted the following clip from 29 November 2013
(please go to 1.00 as clip is long):
And here is a new PR at my FIRST powerlifting comp this weekend!! Hit 240kg (528lbs) weighing 79kg (174lbs).
Yes form still needs work!!!
Competition was really fun, made friends and will definitely do another. So if any of you are thinking about it, definitely give it a shot!! There were 3 over 70 year old (1 guy broke 2 world records!!)
My total was 525kg (1155lbs).

A 3x body weight pull is no joke! It's damn impressive!! For what it's worth, I really didn't see anything wrong with your technique.

thanks for all the kind comments guys.
and thanks on the form compliment hardnheavy!!
I pulled 228kg with poor form a few weeks (as u can see below) thus was worried about my form:
Did spend several days leading up to my meet practising: weight on heels, scraping the bar up shins, keep back straight etc etc

Once again. Thanks for all the positive replies.
For those who may be interested, i used the 10 week ed coan deadlift routine leading up to the meet. Put 210kg as my initial max and 230kg as my target. Hit
228kg in week 9 (was supposed to be 225kg but i wanted to break 500lbs. Week 10 was exactly 1 week before meet so decided against going for PR and did high volume on lighter sets. Then did nothing for a week prior to meet.
