NFL? You mean commercials and replays?
the average amount of time the ball is in play on the field during an NFL game is about 11 minutes.
...
... and more than 100 commercials.

You guys just don't get it. Soccer is beautiful . It takes skill and finesse something Americans know nothing about. "Flopping" is an art form these are not just skilled athletes but skilled actors. NFL is just big fat fukks hitting each other while wearing armor, they are not athletes. American Football games are stopped every 10 seconds, but in real Football the clock still runs and the game continues even if nothing is really happening 90% of the time

Im from the UK, but lets be honest, if Soccer was the #1 sport in the US, they would be pretty good and certainly a top 10 just by looking at the population and athletes they produce alone.
If the US was good at soccer it would mean it was a sport they played more regularly and thus they would be better. It is because they do not play it that they are not good at it and vice versa.
But the rest of the world already knows football is the GOAT anyway.

Trust me I understand soccer and I do love watching the World cup honestly (don't care for club matches) but there is a great deal of skill involved in basketball, football, and baseball as well. We don't grow up watching and most of us don't grow up playing soccer. And that is why nobody cares. Although it is getting bigger in the States. It is an awesome game and the last 15 minutes of a close match is pretty exhilarating.

Population means fuk all, Uruguay are a poverty ass country with a population of 3 million who invest waaaay less in soccer than the US. Look at how well they do. The "if Americans wanted to, they'd be number 1 in soccer!!!" argument is completely flawed, and wishful thinking.
