Yeah man why not read the article, I doubt you'd want that life.
"Gaokao has also been linked to China's rising suicide rate because of mounted pressure and poor test results."
'“If you haven’t died from hard work, just work harder." At Hengshui, students study from 5:30 a.m. to 9:50 p.m., cannot have cell phones and are allowed just one day of vacation every month. Cameras are placed in each classroom to monitor students for laziness. "
“I usually spent three to five minutes eating dinner,” a former student of Hengshui told China Daily."
"A student takes a quick study break. Some schools have been criticized for producing "robots" who study 15 hours per day for gaokao.""How many are there in you? Whose hopes and dreams do you encompass? Could you but see the eyes inside your own, the minds in your mind, you would see how much we share."

At Hengshui, students study from 5:30 a.m. to 9:50 p.m., cannot have cell phones and are allowed just one day of vacation every month. Cameras are placed in each classroom to monitor students for laziness. These types of tactics are increasingly common at what many are calling gaokao-sweatshops

We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, a secretion of sensory, experience, and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everybody is nobody.
Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret.

This is extremely inspiring. Any of these kids, given the opportunities we have, would succeed a lot more than my lazy ass. Time to step it up.
I think that any Indian kid that graduated from an IIT or IIM, and any Chinese kid that graduated from any of the top Chinese unis (JiaoTong, Tsinghua, Fudan etc) are the smartest kids in the world, at least in terms of raw intelligence, just because of the sheer amount of competition they have to battle through
inb4 stereotypical comments like "oh but they have no social skills! they have small penors!!"

Look at them crafty test takers:
A hidden camera inside a pen (second from the left) and a receiver disguised as an eraser confiscated by police.
Glasses containing a hidden camera and a coin with a tiny receiver.
A more complex cheating contraption in Chengdu, Sichuan provence

Their system produces hardworking, conscientious people. I'm not sure why every time Asian education is brought up, someone dismisses it as "meh but we're more creative! "
Are you, really, though? Is the average American kid really that creative? Or did he just spend highschool and college smoking weed and drinking?
I really dislike that argument because it trivializes that tremendous amount of discipline and hard work that these kids go through.
