Do you think intermittent fasting would work better for a brah who is trying to make lean progress?

Just lol at people that still think nutrition timing i relevant to losing fat ._. IF is an eating schedule not at fat loss miracle. Anyways, would have to agree on the carb cycling thing, worked for me aswell.

It was EXTREMELY tough the first two weeks I felt like I was going to die(exaggeration) but I was miserable as hell. The 3rd week, I adjusted nicely. You really should see a noticeable difference after your first week, bodyfat will just melt off assuming you're doing cardio as well. The refeeds are the fun days, so it's always something to look forward too.
Can u explain this cycle a little better, im gonna give it a try

I've done IF in the past with good results. I have not however done IF with carb-cycling.
I always did the 16/8 leangains style IF. It seems I have just recently hit a plateau (but got some nice new quad striations before hand).
A 3 day carb cycle sounds nice.
    I'll go:
    1- 50g or lower
    2- 75g-100g
    3- 200g-225

Actually looking forward to it, thanks for the reminder OP!

carb cycle shredded brah checking in.

but let's be real, there is no secret, an appropriate calorie deficit will lead to fat loss (assuming macro profiles are good).

IF I am a little sceptical about (have tried it) and prefer just a low sodium mild surplus

After losing 200lbs and doing all kinds of dieting and cycling except for bicycling, I can tell you this for sure. Whatever the hell gets you through eating below maintenance. Do it.

I did keto for 12 months, kept carbs under 20g and trained fasted. I did carb cycling. I did carb back loading. I did super high protein diets. Super high fat diets. Gluten free and lactose free for a year, no legumes and all that good stuff. Even did the bulletproof buttered coffee routine for a year.

The best I've ever looked and felt in and out of the gym is right now, doing an IIFYM program and eating below maintenance.

Edit: fasting for 12 to 20 hrs helped me a lot in keeping my kcals below maintenance when I was super obese bc of the huge dinners I was eating. Now I eat about 2 to 3 times a day depending on how I feel.

Currently at 78 kgs (171 lbs) have some fat that I want to lose for the Summer but maintain maximum muscle possible. I'll be fasting for 15 hours for 30 days due to Ramadan. Today is the first day. Not going to stop lifting though, let see where I end up after 30 days.

How do you time your meals around lifting?

With work commitments I have to lift in te evening. 7pm ish.

What would be my best schedule for this to fit lifting at that time, assuming I don't want to be lifting with next to no food consumed in the 12 odd hours prior.

So OP you re feed every 3rd day.

Whats the benefit of doing that over say eating in a deficit 6 days then re feeding on the 7th?
