Except Egypt has a counter-balance force in the form of their military, and they simply don't have the sectarian divisions Iraq has. Iraq can very well disintegrate as a state, which quite frankly isn't that bad in itself. It never made sense as a country, which is why it took decades of bloody oppression by dictators just to keep it stable. Make no mistake, it wasn't supposed to go any other way since Iraqi borders were drawn up way back in the 20's. American plans to make Iraq a "stable democracy" in less than a decade was either supreme arrogance, or simply a ploy to satisfy their Islamofascist buddies in the Arabian Peninsula.

Sure, but as the head of Al-qaeda as an anti-western organization, he never had this amount of well-trained and active followers, at least not before 9/11. Besides, Baghdadi is described as even more zealous and aggressive than both current and deceased al-qaeda leaders.
Mubarak was never an extremist, he was an U.S. puppet from the get-go. Muslim brotherhood didn't even get to make any concessions, before the military plugged them out. Besides, Egypt is way more westernized and resistant to extremism than especially Syria. Also, the Sunni vs Shia thing is not big in Egypt, where nearly all muslims are Sunni. But, I'll concede that you're partly right - but it usually ends in civil war either way, because of the religious tensions between Sunni and Shia muslims, rather than actual concessions.
War breeds hatred. U.S. intervention has created more hatred towards the west than ever before. Collateral damage creates alot of anger. (e.g. dead civilians) Which is exactly as the real extremists want it. Actual al-qaeda strategy:
1. Provoke the United States and the West into invading a Muslim country by staging a massive attack or string of attacks on U.S. soil that results in massive civilian casualties.
2. Incite local resistance to occupying forces.
3. Expand the conflict to neighboring countries, and engage the U.S. and its allies in a long war of attrition.
4. Convert al-Qaeda into an ideology and set of operating principles that can be loosely franchised in other countries without requiring direct command and control, and via these franchises incite attacks against the U.S. and countries allied with the U.S. until they withdraw from the conflict, as happened with the 2004 Madrid train bombings, but which did not have the same effect with the July 7, 2005 London bombings.
5. The U.S. economy will finally collapse by the year 2020 under the strain of multiple engagements in numerous places, making the worldwide economic system which is dependent on the U.S. also collapse leading to global political instability, which in turn leads to a global jihad led by al-Qaeda and a Wahhabi Caliphate will then be installed across the world following the collapse of the U.S. and the rest of the Western world countries.
Which is why it's important to strike ISIS fast and hard, before they actually take over Baghdad, after which taking them down will involve alot more civilian casualties, in a country that already has plenty of anger for the U.S. and the West.WettyB gonna make it CREW

this all goes back a bit further than most of us can remember. Churchill and a few other fellows drew the borders to what we currently know as the middle east. Those borders were put there with little consideration to the ethnic groups living in the areas. Some would argue that the borders were drawn up to cause a constant conflict in the region.
