^they are treating me well and today would have been torture without them!
Last training session was meh...so I went back at night to do the squats again plus some assistance moves like good mornings/front and overhead squats
Today's training my back was still pretty fried from Wednesday's double squat sessions with 240-245lbs
I really had to dig deep today but was pleasantly surprised not too shabby squats.
Squats
warmup
1X3 165
1x3 195
1X4 214
4X5 230
cable glute kickbacks and uphill walking afterwards...my poor back needs rest still worn out.
Celebrating my 33rd bday tomorrow yay
last set of squats...

Thanks peeps...definitely in better shape now then when I was 23...god bless squats!
Had an awesome bday bbq...lots of grilling (for guests not me ) and entertaining
Yesterday's training was pretty tough...lots of volume. I'm loving smolov intense more than the base mesocycle because it keeps you squatting heavyish weights regularly.
squats-
warmups
1X3 155
1X3 180
1X4 205
5X5 230
Wanted to take it easy after that and just did 10 min uphill walking...I have a feeling I'm going to be limiting assistance work this week and next week to finish off intense cycle since its getting tough
4th set

Today's squats were awesome..depth felt great and it wasn't that much of a struggle. I even did glute kickbacks afterwards and some light assistance work finishing off with uphill walking.
squats
warmups
1X3 165
1X3 180
1X3 205
2X3 240
then...
glute kickbacks
4X12 per leg
tricep pushdown
3X20
bent over rear lateral raise
4X12 15s
uphill walking 15 min 10-12 incline 3.1
I don't get that little preworkout kick from womens elite/peak combo anymore but nevertheless they are still helping me push hard during the workoutsWho's afraid of 138?

^Definitely miss the little boost...could be also that I am not taking it on empty stomach..usually have a 3-4 banana smoothie right beforehand.
Thanks JW!
Today's squats were pretty intense don't think I warmed up at all and they were all pretty tough. These reps at 245 will only get better. It's nice to see videos of a few months ago and see the progress. Cant wait to see what will be in another few months
Hopefully repping the 260s like a boss.
Squats
1X5 135
1X3 165
1X3 195
1X3 220
4X3 245

Thanks JW! Was nice to have 3 days off
Final Review of Peak/Womens Elite combo:
I was a supplement newb when starting this log. Never took creatine before and didn't know what to expect. I was at a point in training where I pictured myself running a few strength training routines and it seemed like a perfect time to take advantage of the supplements.
Taste:
4/5
The Peak blue raspberry flavor was my favorite and the Womens Elite Strawberry Kiwi did not disappoint. Womens elite had a little spicy taste. Usually mixed one scoop of each with 8oz water and downed it right before workout. Both products were delicious overall and mixed well with water. I did notice that the Womens Elite was clumping together and eventually became rock like in its tub. Not a big deal but wish that it stayed loose powder like the Peak.
Effectiveness:
5/5
The combo definitely helped me to push harder on reps at heavy weights during my run of Smolov base and intense cycle. Not only performance wise did these supplements help but I was told by a few people that I looked lean and just today a coworker said I looked buff. Not sure what happened but my stomach is still flat so all good just lean gains.
Overall:
4/5
Overall I gained lean mass and became stronger the past few months=WIN
Only negative was the Women's Elite became rock like in its tub.
Would I do it again? YES!
Once again THANK YOU to Promera for giving me this opportunity and giving me a nudge to start on supplements!
Future:
As far as programming goes this is last week of Smolov Intense and I am thinking of starting a Bulgarian style of training.
This is a very different style of training from what I'm used to where you do main lifts to a 1 rep max on a daily basis for 5-6 times a week.
Excited to do it and if I do I'll dedicate it to my hubby since he's from that part of the world (Macedonian). Also planning on widening my stance and start doing low bar squats. A friend from gym who has a powerlifter bf told me to widen it out since it may help to push more weight. People keep suggesting to do a powerlifting meet but I don't think its going to happen...this is just for funs yo!
I'll keep posting youtube vids you can catch me there and not start a journal until next year since it's hard to get on here as it is.Who's afraid of 138?
