How do YOU take your creatine?
Probaly one of the worst experiences in my recent memory is that of taking my non-flavored creatine powder in water(day 2 of the loading phase). Now i know it can be taken in juice but I don't know which juices can be used or if it makes a differences. My personal preference is orange juice but i can make exceptions if it means not gagging every time i chug my creatine.
So the question i pose to you all is: How do you take your creatine?

since your loading, im assuming your taking it 4 times a day? IMO, if i were you, i'd just try to suck it up, and take it 3 times with water, and then once with your post-workout shake. you dont want to be taking with with juice everytime becuase your insulin will be spiking like crazy.
just think to yourself- "i only have 3 more days of loading left, and then i can just take it once with my post-workout shake after that"
how do i take my creatine?
-on workout days, i take 5g in my post-workout shake.
-on rest days, i take 5g in the morning with water. i measure it out, dump the powder in my mouth, then wash it down with some water.

Bump.
I also do that with my Protein powder in the morning before breakfast.
It's faster and doesn't take up dishes.

Same here. That's also how I take glutamine.

I mix creatine with a MRP shake if I am having one. Post workout, I use RiboForce HP. It tastes great and includes Ribose and Taurine. Not cheap, but it really helps me recover from a workout quickly.

re
I take Simply Creatine by EAS, i dont mix it at all, screw that, i dont want to waste my time, i just take the serving and put it in my mouth with a spoon, then wash it down with water, none of that mixing BS, or i chug it with juice. Way easier, and it doesnt go to the bottom of the cup, since its ALL IN YOUR MOUTH!

If you think creatine tastes bad in water, you should try taking glutamine with water (I almost lost my lunch).

Wow. How does something that actually tastes bad taste to you? . Glutamine tastes just about the same as creatine, except it's not somewhat crunchy.

I must have no taste (perhaps in any sense ), since when I mix mine with water and let it dissolve until it becomes clear (about 30 seconds), it does not seem to have any taste at all. In case it makes a difference, I use the Prolab Glutamine.

I don't think i'm letting it settle, or maybe not using enough water. I'll try letting it settle see what it tastes like. I also use prolabs glutamine.

I use Higher Power creatine...mainly because it was the cheapest...Its not the chalkyness that makes me gag...its the almost-sour-but-not-sour-but-just-sour-enough-for-your-brain-to-notice-its-sour taste that makes me gag..Ya i guess i'll suck it up, I just realized today when i bought a bottle of grape juice that were was about 60grams of sugar in it and close to 300 calories for the whole bottle!!

hey bro, orange juice is an acidic juice, and it aint so great for the absorption of creatine. in fact many creatine formulas contain magnesium salts i beleive to reduce the acidity of the stomach, enhancing the absoprtion of creatine. tho thats bull, taking orange juice with creatine i think is.

Right now i use mega whey from gnc with 5g of glutamine per serving. On days that i am not working out, can i just take my creatine with my shake? I heard somewhere that it is not good to take glutamine with creatine because the glutamine cancels out the effects of the creatine somewhat. Is this bull****?

it doesnt cancel it out...the theory was that it competes for absorbtion receptors in your small intestine...the general concencess is that this is indeed NOT true.
I take my creatine in my whey/dextrose/maltodextrine shake.

On on days I down it with whey/dextrose post workout. On off days I take a drink of water, hold it in my mouth, pour the tsp of creatine into the water in my mouth, swish my mouth around(like literally shake my head) to put it into solution a bit and then drink it down. Can't even notice it.

I prefer an inter muscular injection. I believe it is the intended way of administering creatine. It is simple because you just push the needle through the injection sight on the ampule.

So,if i'm cutting, the powder in the mouth method will be better compared to the grape juice thing as it contains no sugar.Right?

They do compete, but the amount your body can take at once (maybe 10 grams) is high enough that it is not usually a factor.

If the creatine is dissolved in something, the percentage of absorption will be greater. Similarly, with an insulin spike, the percentage of absorption will be greater.
