I wouldn't be surprised if the Niners cut Hunter being that this was his contract year. Hyde and Lattimore are gonna be able to replace Gore for now and LMJ too. One of them will probably be the starter eventually if not we can have RB by committee. Feel bad for Hunter tho.

I don't notice much difference than any other year. I've been reading pretty detailed stuff.

And to give him the best chance to compete at a very high level, which, obviously, you have to do in the NFL.”

Baalke suggested Lattimore may not have full confidence in his knee. He tore all three major ligaments and suffered a dislocation in October 2012.

“There’s a mental hurdle and physical hurdle you have to overcome,” Baalke said. “He’s close. How close? That remains to be seen.”

^^^ Let him play in preseason and see how it goes. His knee has to be as healthy as it can at this point. If his "mental" hurdle is significant I am not sure he should even be playing, as it definitely won't be beneficial to play scared. I think he will be fine once he gets in a game situation and it goes well. Hope the kid is a solid contributor and stays healthy. Still upset about Hunter he is a good RB and I hate when our guys get injured, especially significant injuries.

Not sure. He was on Seattle to start his career but it was only for a few seasons in same division as the niners

The first day in pads featured a strong day from the 49ers’ passing game.

During the practice-concluding 11-on-11 session, quarterback Colin Kaepernick completed his final seven passes to six different receivers with Anquan Boldin flagging down two receptions.

In an earlier 7-on-7 drill, Kaepernick made the best throw of the day when he drove a deep post to Quinton Patton through the narrow window between safeties Antoine Bethea and Eric Reid.

Wide receivers Boldin, Patton, Michael Crabtree and Stevie Johnson all had strong showings.

--The first day in pads was impressive for defensive linemen Tank Carradine and Quinton Dial, neither of whom participated in camp last season as rookies. Carradine never played due to a knee injury, while Dial sat most of the season while rehabbing from toe surgery.

Carradine fared well in a one-on-one pass rush drill against veteran offensive lineman Adam Snyder. He also got good pressure in 11-on-11 drills, including one instance in which he was beat right tackle Jonathan Martin.

Dial also looked strong and quick in pass-rush drills. The biggest collision with a ballcarrier occurred when he ran into Carlos Hyde on a run play late in practice.

Dial is one guy that nobody really talks about that I'm curious to see this year after some Jimmy T time.
