It blows... He is a great back up. His averages 4.5 ypc (or something like that). Who knows maybe no other team takes him after this season and we get him back cheap.


I also just saw that Hyde hurt his hand but is still practiced.

Isn't it an 'unwritten rule' that you don't claim other teams' injured players? Head Belichek did that a couple weeks ago and ruffled some feathers.

Chris Culliver. Did not participate in team drills. Harbaugh said there was something bothering Culliver. Harbaugh did not say if Culliver was bothered by an injury or if he was bothered by getting kicked out of practice yesterday.

I was a little concerned with how the articles about him leaving the field were written(having to be talked to by like half the team and him being really pissed) and this certainly doesn't help.

I think Cully might have held himself out, maybe cause he is anxious to hit people and needed more time to cool off. Could have been easily rustled today. Hyde had a few rough moments during practice. At one point, he fumbled a kickoff and had difficulty picking up the loose ball. Harbaugh said Hyde injured a fingernail on the play. Hyde later dropped a well-thrown slant across the middle.

Who are you guys most looking forward to seeing play? Obviously we want to see it all but let's keep it to 3 rookies and 3 vets

My rookie watch list

1. Bruce Ellington - was there really any doubt?
2. Aaron Lynch - very intrigued by this dude if he can keep his head on straight
3. Dontae Johnson - big dude, if Donatell can coach him up he can be our version of Sherman, hopefully minus the big mouth

Vet watch list

1. Tank - kinda cheating here since he's almost a rookie for us but I want to see what this kid can do
2. Dial - ditto
3. Patton - with Crab hurting and Q being a seasoned vet I'm guessing he gets first string reps. Curious how he does.

I think Alex is a step above mid tier

Yeah I think Alex should get a similar structured deal. It's guys up next season who can demand legit high paying contracts and not incentive deals.

Kap paved the way because he knows the other guys need the money and the fact that he only had 1.5 seasons to base the deal on. Technically he should've made much less based on the track record but it is what it is.

Hopefully Wilson gets a huge deal with everything guaranteed

With context of his time in SF, and whats he has done with structure, and the way he takes care of the football, I would rather have him then a lot of the so called upper tier QB's. (Cutler, Romo, etc) I know this is not a popular opinion but I will take a QB who doesn't win or lose games single handed over a QB who wins some by himself and loses some by himself
