Dude makes more than a million dollars to do what he loves. And he wants more. To me that looks a lot like someone who doesn't want to play. He is racking up fines as well which is counterproductive to what he wants. Maybe he wants to play, but it doesn't seem much like he cares about playing imo. At least that's how it looks.

Kinda off topic but had my work league fantasy draft tonight and we do IDP positions DL, LB and DB.

One guy pretty much agrees to play just to be included cuz he's never drafted live and hardly keeps an eye on his team.

Was cracking up cuz once again he could've even get himself to rate his players in yahoo and wound up with his first defensive player being Dontae Johnson.

Personally I didn't get to homer up that much but did walk away with Crab and Hyde

There is no 30 or 56 on the team. And Bethea's number is on the shirt. The number selection and placement is very weird. But I still like the shirt.

Weird thing was Rappaport(sp?) said they were getting closer to a deal with Crab and then there was nothing after that report but then again outside of Kap's deal niners always seem to get these deals down out of nowhere so hopefully they get it done before week 1.

I'm hoping Dontae Johnson and Acker have big games tonight and secure their spot on the roster. Likewise I kinda hope Dahl plays like chit again and makes the coaches cut his overpaid ass.

They may be able to stash McCray on the PS but I don't want another Michael Thomas situation.

Listening to NFL SiriusXM radio on my drive home. I guess the niners are the consensus IT pick to be the decline playoff team.

Certainly we have a lot more instability with the team than I would like - injuries, suspensions, holdouts, poor showing in preseason so far...but it is preseason and it seems like every season since 2011 people have been picking the niners to have a decline form the season before and every time guys step up under Harbaugh.

Yes there are questions and it won't be easy with some key guys being out and the schedule doesn't do us any favors while we're missing those guys and yes the division is much tougher but I just think we have too many talented players to not put it together and win games.

Don't know if they can win the ship this year but maybe it's the homer in me but I don't think they decline like everyone seems to think. Kap still has a lot of room to grow as a QB but I'm confident in him making enough plays with our receivers to get things going on offense.

Just some food for thought...

Not every QB starts out their career playing at an all pro level. Took Brees a while to grow into what he is now and he had much more QB friendly coaches helping him out. Not saying Kap will be on Drew's level as a passer but he's far from a finished product and his results so far have been very good for where he is.

Spoke to a niner fan today who thinks Kap isn't the QB of the future. I never post on any other niner boards but is this a common thought with our fanbase?

I honestly cant think of a juicier potential QB-HC combination in the NFL right now. OK maybe Luck-Harbaugh, but that may be it. (If the goal is to build a franchise for the long term).

I don't think people think about the depth we have in most of our positions. Injuries suck but we have guys who can pick up the slack. Defensively I am not worried at. We have once again a solid front 7 and should be good against the run and hopefully a great pass rush. Our secondary is young which people can doubt. Offensively I am just worried about our Oline. If they seem to play at the same level like they last year on the line then we will be good.


I try not to be a homer on most things but we have built solid depth at every position and for we have proved that last year we can play without many key players and win games.. (aldon, Willis, Williams ect...).

looks like the beat writers seem to think Chris Cook is the guy who gets the ax at corner. Not sure how I feel about that. He's played pretty good so far but perhaps that's the best way to go since he doesn't play special teams and doesn't have as much potential as the young guys. It will certainly be interesting.

I think we all agree that we should keep players that add overall value. Keeping guys who just play special teams is stupid. If there is a younger guy that is playing at Cook's level then I would take him and also have the younger guys also contribute on special teams.

Yeah I saw the same thing about Cook. This time a couple weeks ago it was hard to imagine why but now i guess if the younger guys are playing around the same level as him and play SP teams AND Ward is the nickle then why not let him go? The wildcard will be if and when Cully is going to be suspended???

Also Morris hasnt looked good at all so be playing for a spot tonight.

Also, i'm calling it now, Osgood doesnt make the team but will come back later in the year.
