    Shoulder questions, injury?

    Hey guys,

    I have been having some concerns with my shoulders. My left shoulder, when doing like a full rotation, pops every time. It used to be no big deal but it's beginning to get painful. When I lift, only when really focusing on shoulder, I get pain through it. Now my right shoulder is getting a shooting pain when I put pressure on it. I didn't have any type of serious injury. They are fine on a day to day basis but I do experience the symptoms as stated above. Any ideas?

    Honestly man, I'd say go get it checked out. A shoulder injury can severely limit you in many ways in the gym. If you choose not to go get it checked out, have someone who knows a thing or two about lifting check your form and routine out. Are you warming up properly? Do you feel off balance during specific lifts? Check into these things but the only way you'll get a solid answer is from medical help. I hope these pains go away man.

    I'm recovering from shoulder surgery myself. No one on here can tell you what the problem is man. You need to see an orthopedic Dr and get an MRI. Good luck.

    I have the same problem sometimes. Got it diagnosed and it turned out i had bursitis. One of those things i gotta live with now. But you should go get it checked for sure

    How long has it been since you took a small break? If its been several months or more of hard training, take a week off and give your body a chance to recover. If that doesn't help, seek professional help (eg: physio)

    I was looking up what it could be and came across bursitis. Sounds a lot like what im experiencing. Great advice from everyone

    The problem with shoulders is pretty much every body part you train, your shoulders take a battering.

    I'd say give your body 2 weeks off, and when you go back don't do any pressing exercises for a few weeks more. So no bench press and no over head press.

    It may not be your form, but it's still worth really looking into, so when you eventually go back to working out make sure your form is as perfect as it can be.

    I've had the same issues with shoulders, and there's always that temptation when you think it's healed a little, to chance doing some pressing exercises, but trust me I've done it, and it'll only make things worse.

    Rest is the best thing you can do for the near future, and you could maybe get a joint supplement, so that when you go back to training your joints will have that extra bit of support.
