I think that the better looking the person you the date the more you will put into the relationship and the more worried you will be about other guys looking at her / being jealous all the time. I personally talk to girls who are all below me attractiveness wise because deep down I am insecure and settle for less.

My ex was way out of my league. Dated for a bit over a year. I didn't treat her any different than any other girlfriend I had. It gave me a huge boost in confidence though, which she grew to hate.
