Younger guys, I assume late teens early 20s do observe. Plenty of other moves just as revealing (?), but this in particular seems to be the worst. Not so much creepy, but makes me feel really embarrassed, or like I am being made fun of.

Anyone have this with particular exercises? What to do? Other than travelling further for female only gym?

I cant see how theres anything you can do about this if you want keep doing this movement, and you should because its awesome. Maybe wear bigger clothes i guess? Start your workout with the bridges, in a big long tshirt that covers your bum, then take it off once you move on? Obviously, with something underneath.

It is awesome. Excellent idea, never considered :/ (slow), usually dress light because get a bit hot after cardio. Will wear heavy sweats, and just sweat it out.

It's just an odd looking exercise, and I'm guessing a lot of guys probably don't even know about it, that might be why they're looking. Just keep doing what you're doing, look in front of you and listen to music, you'll forget about your surroundings.

More often than not, when I've done glute bridges outside of the gym I first learnt them in (lots of people did it there, so the regulars got desensitised to it), I've gotten strange looks, and comments from people who I had any kind of rapport with. I just tell them I'm training for my role in a porno. Everyone has a good laugh. The end. I'm not sure how people will react to a woman saying that, though.

There's a certain amount of sexual exposure inherently present in bridges/hip thrusts, hyperextensions, pretty much all deadlift variations, and bent over rows. It does take a bit of getting used to it. For me, I basically got over the feeling that I was going to become someone's prison-bi7ch every time I did a deadlift or row by deciding that if anyone ever did try anything fancy, I'd beat them to death with whatever weights I was using. And then that feeling of exposure was gone.

Same here. I'm not going to let anyone psych me out of my butt gains. :P I won't lie though...I did feel a bit self conscious doing them at first especially after one guy made some rude comments to me about the movement but now it's really no big deal. Push through. It's a great exercise!

I can totally relate! Especially since I've switched from doing glute bridges to hip thrusts (which I find way more effective lol). I just roll my bench onto a nice quiet corner in my gym and proceed. And I don't make eye contact with anyone in the mirror. Even if I can tell if someone's looking with my peripheral vision. Hahah

... Have said this in multiple threads where girls mention "admirers": Guys will pretty much look at anything that isn't obese, resembling a female. You could be doing split squats, bench, or leg raises, and you will have people checking you out. Don't let your silly insecurities affect your work outs. Let them talk/laugh. It's nothing to worry about.

...Just face your crotch towards the wall in a corner somewhere. That's what I do. It gets really fun when I ask someone to put the bar on top of me (cause I can't roll it over my legs yet), and they don't recognize what exercise I'm doing.... then they watch and find out... haha

I do weighted glute bridges all the time and I don't really feel like anyone finds it necessarily "awkward"...lol. I might've gotten stares here and there but usually I'm staring up at the ceiling/making sure the barbell isn't digging into my legs so I don't notice anyone looking.

Personally, for me, cable kickbacks are the most awkward to do in my gym. The cable machines are directly infront of a big mirror and are basically the center of focus in my gym's weight room the way that it is positioned. So on those days I make sure to wear loose shorts...haha.

But I would never stop doing an effective exercise for the sake of being more .. uh.. conservative?? I actually showed my gym crush the glute bridge exercise the other day because he wanted some new hamstring exercises...now you got me thinking that he wasn't really looking for hamstring exercises after all...lol.
