yeah they do all the diagnostic tests for diseases in the hospital labs. Salary is average (50k), so I'll be alright living on my own.

why medicine instead of dentistry? Is dentistry harder to get into? who earns more on average gp or dentist?

my friends who were in that situation just said they were gonna continue doing research, or pursue a master's in something like biomedical sciences and just apply again. most people i know who are med students didn't matriculate straight outta undergrad, they took a year off or did a masters.

im applying to do a master's after i graduate in the spring if i dont get into PA school. I probably wont, im smart and i'll have decent grades in my pre-reqs and GRE, but my overall academic performance is that of a smart lazy kid and i have jack chit for experience and involvement stuff. i really recommend looking into other medical careers like PA or theres other cool stuff like anaesthesia assistant, which is also a 2 year program. you should only go to med school if you're doing something that you can't do as a PA or NP, its way to expensive and time consuming to become an MD to do the same thing that someone with less than half the schooling can do like primary care.

i was pre dent freshmen year but changed to medicine cause it seemed more interesting. plus more oppurtunities and better prestige

thanks for the tip. yea when doing practice exams the time dont go fast but on the actual exam i dont know what it is but the time seems to go 1.5x faster. probably nerves and keep checking answers to make sure it's correct
