Hey everyone. For those of you who compete in Strongman or have an interest there is a new federation that launched yesterday. Former owner of NAS, Willie Wessels has created "United States Strongman". Willie was the face of strongman for 10 years and has always put the athletes needs ahead of his own.
If you have any interest I urge you to contact Willie with questions.
Weight classes coincide with traditional powerlifting classes.

I look forward to competing with him in the near future.

It was nice when strongman was a single, united organization with a clear path from novice to pro.
I don't really see how more federations benefits anyone. If you want more contests, contact your NAS state chair and get people signed up.Training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165829701

Buddy you live next to jakked. There is a contest this weekend. I'm not sure how many more shows are going to pop up right next to you.
There still is with NAS and should be soon for USS. Willie is still in contact with the same people who hold pro level shows. Also not every chair is as eager to put on a contest.
People hate powerliftng because there is fifty different feds with contradictions across the board. There are a few differences between the two such as weight classes and an easier ability to set state and national records, everything else fundamentally stays the same for competitors. I should add that in NAS you are only able to set a NAS record if Dione or Willie is present at the contest. I live one state away, competed in 20+ shows, and have only seen Dione at one maybe two shows. Willie was at 75% of the contests until he was removed from NAS. If you lived in CA good luck ever setting the national record. State records where non existent.
People said the same thing about RPS but I have yet to hear tons of complaints about that fed. It is another outlet for those who would like to compete in strongman, I don't see how it could be such a bad thing. No one has yet to say you can only compete in one fed.
