    Do strength shoes actually work?

    I've had these shoes for a few months but I haven't really used them consistently. This is because I've read that they don't work, they cause injuries, and that they are just a waste of time. Has anybody tried them if so what were your results?

    They affect your running and jumping mechanics and put a lot of unnecessary stress on the lower leg; even if they DID NOT cause tons of overuse injuries, they'd still be a waste of money.

    They are a waste in my IMO. A few of my friends used them and developed tendinitis in knees and ankles and gained maybe 2" in their vertical jump over the course of a few months. Spend some time in the weight room and do plyometrics and your athletic ability will increase better overall.
