Anyone not use s scale during contest prep? Or maybe only use it once every few weeks? I wanted to try and see what it would be like to prep without fixating on a number and going by how i look since that's what it's about anyways. I know if I stick to my calorie goal I will be in a deficit so that's not an issue.
Anyone have experience with this good or bad?

I use BF calipers just to make sure I'm moving forward and improving, since you're right the number on the scale doesn't tell you much. Even the calipers aren't usually exact but if you can I'd suggest them just to make sure the numbers are going down.

I do use the scale quite frequently during prep, but it's in conjunction with other tools to measure my progress. Photos, measurements, how my clothes fit, if you have a coach how you coach thinks you look, etc. In my opinion, the more tools you use the better you can assess your progress. At the end of the day though you're right, you can't judge progress solely on the scale.
