I was fine at 1850 cals/day but as soon as I dropped to 1800 I couldn't keep myself below 2000. Pretty crazy what a 50 cal drop can do, I was fking starving, lol.

Yea man, unfortunately...I'll be somewhere 182-185 (177-198 is the class, but there's no way in hell i'm sucking down to MWs again @ 176). Probably one of the more shredded guys at the show (my current condition trumps just about everyone who showed up last year, it was bad...) which is the only way I'm going to get top 5. Which I'm ok with--I'm going to start dieting 3-4 weeks out from the first show (6 weeks from now), and then roll into the second even leaner hopefully (9 weeks from now).

That is basically the same scenario for me. I was 168 in my weight class. I will admit though I was one of the most shredded guys there so that helped tremendously. I can't imagine you not getting top 5. You'll do great. It blows my mind though that some peeps compete at like 10 to even 12 percent bf...

Usually try to go up to maintainace at about 2650 - 2700. But I don't always eat that much because I'm not used to eating so much, so it sometimes ends up less than that. Although yesterday I went over quite a bit but I worked out a lot this weekend so I kind of needed it. Feeling pretty good today because of that, so even though it's an off day I'm planning to do some cardio tonight.

It might be because they register for the show early and didn't give themselves enough time to get below 10%.
Now I registered just before the late fee cutoff. That's usually two weeks out.
If I don't look good then I probably won't look good in two weeks.
I do this also in case life throws me some curves and my mind just isn't in the game anymore.

I dunno. Had chipotle (burrito bowl macros=not so bad) so maybe. Come to think of it maybe was a liter or so short of a gallon, did a leg workout and was moving around lifting heavy chit because I helped the gf move though. Just extra frustrating considering the extra work
Then again I got paid in bj's....cant be that mad
