actually does.. as does pausing pushups or whatever (when u rest ur chest on the ground for a split second releasing hands then go again)... try it. you'll see
helps with lock out and starting off

That guy that uses the dumbbell rack the way you would a bench for db row.
That guy who claims two benches, four sets of weights, and militantly defends them while super setting what ever workout he's doing with sprints on the treadmill making it sound like a herd of elephants is about to burst through the wall. He also stays for two hours.
Those guys who will be using equipment you need to use so you go onto something else. After your first set notice they've finished a set and are just talking. Still doing the same after your second. And also continuing after your third.

I do the callouses thing.
But I hate hate the people who have like 3 pairs of dumbbells on the ground and refuse to pick them up.
Or the two fatasses who think they're so strong when they're half repping.
Or the guy who does like 20 sets of squats and I only want to do 3.
Or the people that try to take my rope handle when I'm resting and don't even bother asking, leaving me to have to shout at them through their earphones, "I'm not done with that".1k+

1) Stretches for seemingly ever out in the open, leaves. dont see him workout once. old and creepy.
2) curl in squat rack
3) you get up to put db's back and grab new ones, and he takes your seat/bench right away
4) some sort of leaning pushups on squat rack bar, wtf you doing just do normal pushup sand on the ground actually challenge yourself
