    finishing bulk

    hey guys, i've made this thread to ask if you think i'm ready to cut. i'm at 196 lbs atm, going for 200 lbs. i'm getting pretty fat clearly, but am skeptical about my chest and arms. my chest looks way too underdeveloped and my arms are just tiny, i'm worried that if i cut, i'll look too skinny. i also have some loose skin in my lower gut and under my chest which is pretty annoying when trying to guess what's fat and what isn't, but aside from the loose skin, it's pretty obvious i have quite a bit of fat. i'm 6'0 19 years old btw. i've been training for about 18 months now. thanks.

    Wouldn't bulk too much more due to the fat gains. Your arms aren't that tiny.

    If it were me I'd go on a NON prolonged cut to shed some then bulk but do it very very slow so you're not in this situation again dealing with too much fat gains from bulking.

    what's a non prolonged cut? is that like a small, quick cut? if so, i'd be willing to try that. i was gaining 1 lb a week while i was on this bulk, i was around 12-13% body fat before it though, so i had some fat beforehand.

    Seems like you bulked heavily. nothing negative little jelly here.
    Would cut til you be around 10-13% and than slowy bulk again.
    Do I need to lift to become a bodybuilder?

    Your at 16-17% now, so you need to cut down to 12-13 % and then just do a long lean bulk only gaining 2lbs per month. When you bulk 1lb per week its really hard to tell if your even gaining muscle because the majority is fat. Remember we only gain about 1lb of muscle per month.

    alright, thanks guys, i'll cut down. should i aim to lose a pound a week when cutting? and how much weight do you think it would take to reach around 12% bf?

    Yea 1lb per week, my guess would be around 175-180lbs.

    I'd lose 1-2 lbs a week and I'd cut for 10-12 weeks depending on how you look

    Meaning not too long. (months and months) 1 lb a week seems about right but maybe for you, since we are all different, .5lbs week would be more ideal.
