ECE/MBA

ECE made me realise that i was highly skilled 'labour', I worked like a dog for pretty average pay (60k grad, 80k 2 years out, 110k 6 years in)
MBA made me realise how interesting going back to the workforce would be. Highly recommend it.

Too easy to find work as a BCBA, it's not a well known field of psychology but is the most scientifically validated. Major areas of focus are ABA autism treatment, dev disabilities treatment, an organizational business management. Learn about behavior folks, I am the future of societal improvement. Double majored in linguistics and neuroscience. Linguistics I don't regret because I enjoy the subject and it opened up a couple of interesting opportunities. Plus, I was good at it.

Neuroscience I completely regret. Hated most of the classes. Brought my GPA down (would have a 3.8 without it, probably 4.0 if I didn't waste all that time on neuro classes and used it on my other ones). Basically useless (even more so than my linguistics degree, and that is a social science).

Always wanted to do geology and now it is too late (I'd feel weird doing field school at 23-24 with a bunch of 20 year olds). Please OP, if you hate more than 3 classes in your major, switch.

You could always do a minor in geology. If you bout dat life, you can get stoned while staring at stones. Nom sayin brah?

There's multiple facets with a psych graduate degree as long as you don't narrow too far into one specific area. I/O psych was mentioned and engineering psych is a pretty good direction if you plan to work for industry and you'll make fairly decent. More likely double than what a position in academia makes.

You could also get your BA/BS in psych and then apply for a counseling degree. Get a masters and a few certificates and you'll be set!

Don't know much about the psychiatry route, but I would imagine you'd need to start taking a lot of pre-med courses.

I know the coolest guy I've ever met was Geophysics major with plans of doing Oil&Gas work, but literally the nerdiest guy I've ever met in my entire life was also a Geophysics major who wanted to Astro-Geophysics.

Later on if I can complete it (because it's hard as fuark) and it pays extremely well, and somehow I manage to end my FA status, THEN I'll say I chose well. Until then to me each day I think about whether I ****ed my entire life with this choice.

That's a good thing. No distractions at work for full focus on advancement. After work you have your social life.
