Starting a sentence with "and" isn't annoying to me for some reason.

And why should it be?

As for the rest, I do use semicolons but TBH I do so rarely. I tried not to use contractions in places but sometimes contractions make things less formal and that's part of the tone you might be going for.

As for the "And" thing, I am sort of stylistically stuck in that whole "conjunctions" shouldn't really be used to start a sentence. So, I tend to always read a sentence starting with "And" as adding a lot of emphasis. Sort of like saying "I am tired of reading. AND I am not going to take it anymore!". The sentences just sound loud and incomplete/choppy to me -_-.

I'm sure you're right. It does seem redundant to me now that I think about it.
