Weigh in this morning and I am at 172.2 lbs. Even though I am gaining I am sure (Based on 18 weeks of data) that I am not at maintenence calories yet. Taking my next step up to maintenance and holding it there for a couple of weeks.
The good thing is that energy is coming back.
Good luck everyone with your weigh-ins.

Weigh-in: 187 - no change.
"It doesn't matter what exercise you do, but man was made to move, to eat sparingly, to work hard and to screw as much as he can manage. Do all that, and you will look as good as your genes will let you, be content as the arseholes around you will allow, and maybe get a few screws. The particular virtues of weight training are in the discipline it brings to both mind and body, and, if you do it right, it will make you look good naked and do well what you got your clothes off to do." Congrats to everyone who lost weight this week! I'm checking in tomorrow but so far it's not looking good Although, I lost 3lbs last week so that makes me feel a little better. Keeping up the hard work and hoping for a change soon...

I set a target of 2000 calories daily for recuperation and nutrition benefits and anything i burn beyond that is what i cut on and it looks like illl have a 300 calorie deficit today.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

Friday's Workout
1hr working out with weights
45m swim w/fins (legs only)
374 calories burned
Today I did my first ever Deadlift and I liked it! I started out with just doing the 45 lb bar for 5 reps and found that super easy. I slapped 50 pounds on it and did 5 more plus 10x3. I also did bench press, db flyes, db lat raise, db bench, db triceps, smith machine squats and upright row! I didn't use any of the normal machines I go to. My favorite though is the deadlift!!!01/02/2019 Starting weight: 221.5 lbs
11/01/2019 Weight: 161.4 lbs. Lost 60.1 lbs
03/06/2020 Weight: 151.2 lbs. Lost 70.3 lbs
Goal Weight: 136.5 lbs

Morning all,
I feel like such a bum for not posting as much. i've just been on the lazy train as of late when it comes to typing words in succession...
So let's seee.
The weekend is here, and I've not much planned. I'll go for walks, and lift some weights on Sunday, and maybe play some tennis. Weekends for me are different than most, It's where I need to make sure I eat enough! Generally by noon i've either Lifted or Walked for an hour, and played 2 hours of tennis. If I've no plans I will literally go on a TV/Video game marathon for a few hours, and soak for an hour in the tub. If I don't pay attention I will not eat at all lol. If my mind is heavily engaged in something, eating is the last thing on my mind. It's like i get into a state of flow pretty easily, and nothing registers until I get snapped out of it. It was great during the college days, as I could work on a project for 8010 hours and never once move. but soon as i stop to soak it all in. EVERYTHING hits me. bathroom, hunger pangs, tired/sleepiness. it's crazy.

Congrats to all that lost this week! To those who didn't, don't worry so much. Give it another week, then reassess. Remember the real reason for this journey is to developed a health relationship with mind, body, and food. You don't just want to "lose weight". That's a means to an end. In reality, you want to learn how to mold your body to your liking. I think people who "lose weight" in most cases have it rough. I think when they get to their goal weight they are more stressed and unhappy, because all they can think about is maintaining that weight loss. Every extra calorie is guilt trip, until they break and just stop caring. It's too hard. Often times, they don't have the body they imagined either, Which makes the whole thing seem worthless to them, or it makes them even more obsessed to lose more, even if they are at a healthy weight.
When you learn to sculpt/old your body, or find that balance of mind, body and food. It becomes almost a fun experience. The work you put in isn't fun, but the results you yield, validates the hard work and sacrifice (eating under maintenance) you put in. Bot only that, you build bone density, stronger heart, and you look better as you shrink as well.
Remember guys this is the rest of your life. Learn the balance. Don't completely cut out foods, you plan on having in your diet after you lose the weight, just cut down on them. People ask me all the time, "you must off your diet" when they see me eat something like fried chicken or pizza. I simply tell them I'm not on a special diet. I just eat a balanced diet. There is no omission of foods, just reduced intake.
I will say this in terms of balance though. I did completely cut out certain foods when I first started to break that dependency on them. I slowly brought them back in when I felt like I was in control and not the food. That way I know i can proper moderate the intake. For example, I make those black bean brownies. I LOVE them. I cut them up into sixteen 81 calorie pieces. 5 years ago, 2-3 days to finish off if i'm lucky. Now? With me giving away at least 1/4 of them to people who want to try them, it still takes me 5-8 days to eat it all.
Ok I'm done

Weight in: 123.0 ! 1.0lbs so far!
That's my running average from my True Weight app (my actual weight is a little lower). I was worried I would weight a lot this morning because last night I had a big concert event for my son (he got an award, yeah!) and we had cake. I kinda skipped dinner for this (had some almonds to munch on then ate grapes, bagel chips and hummus at the party before the cake at home)
Work outs this week were lifting: 2 upper and only 2 lower (instead of 3) because I injured myself lifting heavy boxes at work.
Whatever I'm doing right now seems to work. Just have to focus on the discipline to stick with it.** Marie **
