Well here i am once again. I know it has been a long time. I have been trying a few things with my workouts and diet but decided that i needed to add back in real lifting and not those cardio/lifting classes online
A little background for those who don't know me. I was once 220+ pounds but with diet and exercise i got down to 118. I am now 135 so i want to lose about ten more pounds. I run 5-6 days a week 3-5 miles, lift now 4 days a week and do yoga and Barre classes everyday. . I eat no grains or dairy. Just does not work with my body at all. Being 48 the weight just wants to hang on.
I workout at home so my workouts will be all dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell. I run outside most days but the way the weather has been i have had to do a few more treadmill days which are pure hell..lol
My promise to myself is to log here everyday no matter what i do. I also love to garden and adore my little Lilly so get ready for some garden and puppy pics too

May 19th
Wow made it here today. I am impressed. I am so not good a journaling..being witty, fun. Some people are such great writers..i tend to fall all over myself.
So let's just jump into today's problem. I wear glasses and i wanted to switch to wearing contacts while i run. I went last Wednesday and got some soft contacts. The problem is i can't get them off my finger and into my eye. They just bend back and stick to my finger. I have tried everything. A friend said i need to get gas permeable lenses so when i go back Wednesday i will ask if i can try those lenses. It would be nice to see while i run and i am getting a bit tired of wearing glasses all the time.
My legs were sore after yesterdays workout but i ran since it was such a nice crisp morning. I was out by 5am and got in 4.06 miles.
Today for my music i used another one of my favorite apps Rock My Run
www.rockmyrun.com
I hate having to find music i like and put together a playlist so this was the site for me. I love all the 80's mixes. Today i ran to" So Fly"
It had a mix of Tony,Toni,Tone, Bell Biv Devoe, En Vogue,TLC,Maxi Priest,Prince,Micheal Jackson and a ton more..I was jamming the whole run.
I started back logging my food at My Fitness Pal again..I need the accountibility. I also weighed today and yes i have gained two pounds so i am at 137. I am not freaking i know what needs to be done..or not done.
Time to water the garden and take Lilly for a walk and then Yoga for about 40 minutes..
Be good everyoneDaily Journal

I'm so glad you decided to start a journal again, Vanessa! That's awesome. I'll definitely be following along. Cute pictures of Lilly Don't ever feel like your writing isn't good - that's what makes your journal interesting is that it's your own journey! Everyone's is different and ultimately it's for you, not anyone else! I love reading people's honest thoughts instead of someone trying to be entertaining to everyone else...
As for the contacts, do you know what kind you have right now? Mine can bend back a bit too, but after you use them for a while you'll discover the 'tricks' to getting them off easier! It's definitely a learning process. Are the gas permeable ones the kind you can wear all night?*Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.*

I am not sure what kind of contacts they are..she just said soft contacts. I just know i can't do it..lol. I have tried and tried..they just roll back and stick on my finger. A friend of mine had the same problem and had to get the gas permeable ones..i hope i can do those..she said they are a bit harder so they don't fold back..i hate it when i can't do something..
I got my yoga in today..i started on my birthday January 1st and have been doing it daily..i feel so much better.
Ok i am being bad and am having a glass of wine..but i did log itDaily Journal

Looks like you have a nice routine in place- and I love that its at home, because that's what I am having to do too.
Glad to have you back! I will be tagging along!"Choice is ours whether

Good Morning Everyone..
I am feeling a bit tired today. Steve says it because i get up at 4:30am to go running but most days i am on top of the world..well as much as i can be anyway. Overall i am a happy person..i think it's because i am finally in a good place in my life..too bad it took me almost 40 years to get here.
I am an introvert and i find happiness in just being by myself. I do enjoy going out every once and awhile but i am not much into crowds or big parties. A few friends to me is a nice night. I just can't be "on" for a long period of time. So now unlike my first two marriage i am with someone who understands. He is an extrovert which helps me out because when we go out he is my buffer...lol..and also he loves me enough to understand and gives me the space i need.
It's nice when you finally meet the right person.
So anyway today i got up feeling a little tired but went for my run. I only got in 3.20 miles today since i will be lifting later. I might have to bring the weights down for the squats and lunges. My quads are still sore from my last workout. Wish i could lift the heavy weights like some ladies on here but i know if i did it would kill my running. My legs could not take it.
I'm off to do yoga and water the garden. I planted watermelons this year. I can't believe they are growing...
I wanted to post my ******** link in case you all wanted to stop by..don't worry i am not one of those crazy gaming people or post 100 kitty pics. It's just my workouts, some Lilly and garden pictures. I am harmless...lol

Update for the end of my day.
I got in 50 minutes of yoga this morning. I use to pay about twenty a month of an online yoga site but about a year ago i found this wonderful free site
www.doyogawithme.com
I usually do runners yoga under style in the drop down menu. You can search by the length of time, style or difficulty.
This afternoon i did a 30 minute Barre for runners workout. It helps with my hips and hamstrings.
I am doing good with logging my foods too. I am being very honest and even adding the wine i have at night
Here is the link

Great job Vanessa! Haha, when I first saw the yoga site link I thought it said "dog yoga" lol... too funny. I thought Lilly did yoga with you or something, hahahaha...
Good to hear you're keeping track of your foods, and nothing wrong with a little wine at night!
Have a good afternoon!*Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.*

You just answered my question about FB! lol!
4:30....ick. I used to get up at 2:30 for work, and now I have no idea how I did that. But, it did prep me for having a wee one lol. I think a lot of my friends struggle more with the lack of sleep.
Watermelons and yoga...that's up my alley! I don't know if I can even grow those here in WA.
I am also an introvert. Oddly, I find myself lonesome, but still reluctant to get out there. Like the second I am around people (crowds) I want to cower on back home. You are not alone in this, my friend!
Ah! I remember that move! Thank you!
And I have been humbled by pilates...so I know that when something looks simple, if executed properly, can be a real challenge!
Have a great day!!"Choice is ours whether
we become victim or victor!!"

You know sometimes Lilly tries to join in but all she does is get in the way..lol
You know i am never lonely. I guess that's a good thing. I do think i have some social anxiety. It's just people i don't know in general..once i know someone i am ok but it's the whole thinking people are judging you..i know insane but my i parents were all about the way things looked on the outside..never mind the fact they were abusive alcoholics at home to everyone on the outside we looked like the prefect family..lord we would have made a great movie of the week..thankfully i got away from all that when i was 18 but the damage had been done..wow TMI right...
I just started doing Barre a few weeks ago. I have done yoga for about two years now. Everyday since the first of the year. You should give it a try..i had to start with just 10 minutes..just in the past few days have i been able to do 30 minutes..my butt feels it...lolDaily Journal

I don't think its TMI. It goes to show that what we see, maybe are jealous of, on the outside isn't always pretty underneath. I am so glad you got out...

Hey Vanessa - thanks for the rep
I'm catching up in here, but for now, just wanted to say that I have a little pup like your avi - and I spoil her rotten
Those little ones are the best
Not sure if yours if friendly to others or just you, but mine really only likes 4 people and the rest she tears to shreds when they get close
[so amusing]
Happy Friday
Right now it doesn't matter what the results will be.
Whats more important is that you test the waters. You share the story.. you add a different aspect to your recovery..
Leap and the net will appear..

Hey good to see you
Lilly my baby now is friendly to everyone..well that's not saying much being the introvert i am but anytime i do have her out for a walk she does not mind if anyone comes close. I have to remember not to be so guarded because i know dogs pick up on feelings .
Muffin my first Chi i had for almost 13 years did not want anything to do with anyone that was not in the family. All my fault..i had her since she was a baby and treated her like one. She was sick January before last so i had to have her put to sleep. I swear i think i cried for a month. It still hurts.
Do you have any pics of your baby in your journalDaily Journal

Well feeling better today. I was up at 4:30 am getting ready for my run. I was out by 5 for 3.18 miles and then about 20 minutes of yoga to stretch.
It was warm for my run..about 65*..I love it..no more three layers of clothes and two pair of gloves to keep warm
This weekend we plan on planting the sunflowers by the back fence, hang the hummingbird feeder and plant the new flowers around the bird bath.
My crazy alien cactus has bloomed and my watermelon plant is really taking off..
I will try and post some pics later..
Hope you all enjoy your weekendDaily Journal

I have heard from my daughter that this is a couple years old but i am always late to the party when it comes to apps and fun sites online...lol
When Steve and I lived in an apartment when we were looking for a house, then when it was being built we had a nice container garden on out patio. I even had blueberries.
Well i try and count calories or at least keep track of what i eat during the day. I use My Fitness Pal..

I eat some crazy stuff sometimes.. Like i make my own protein ice cream in my Ninja..it's the big kitchen size one

Today...well it's my off day from running. I usually make myself take a day off. I hate it but if i don't i will end up hurting myself or pulling something.
I have to do something everyday no matter what or i feel guilty or fat. I know it comes from when i weighed 230 pounds. Sometimes i still see myself that large in my head. It's like no matter what my weight i always feel fat. I have never been comfortable in my skin..i think even if i was the right weight for my height it would not be enough. There is no fear in that since i have never met a sweet i did not like
Anyway so this morning i did 20 minutes core and i'll do some yoga and barre later
Off to watch some Netflix ..be good and enjoy your weekendDaily Journal
