Is Cissus an analgesic for joints or...

does it actually repair joints and connective tissue like glucosamine does? Also, is 10% cissus still effective for joint health? I heard lower extracts such as 5% was better for joints while higher % was better for an anabolic effect.

    I haven't seen anything saying glucosamine/chondoitin repairs ligament/tendon.

I've found 5% the most effective at reducing joint pain, whether it's anti-inflammatory or analgesic, I still notice a huge difference when I'm off it.

    Agreed here.

A 10% extract will be just fine however.

I have elbow tendinitus, which will flare up if I stop taking it for more than 3-5 days. Pateraller tendinitis will occasionally flare up too depending on my programming.

3,200mg cissus daily for 8 weeks resulted in a significant decrease in pain (33%), stiffness (23%) and CRP levels (30%).

Tendinitis is a chronic overuse injury, I should stop the repetitive motion that is causing it in order to let it heal.

It is indeed that study. The intentional design was double blind, placebo controlled and randomised but in the end cissus was given to all participants, there was no placebo control.

Sorry I try to do my best with english

if the cissus only mask the pain ( you say the pain comeback when you stop ) that's why I say you should stop using cissus to listen to your body and let him heal

How are you so sure it is only masking the pain, and not decreasing inflammation or increasing repair (thus decreasing pain by decreasing inflammation).

Again, stopping cissus will not just let my body heal, stopping the mechanism causing the injury is necessary.

"We observed a significant decrease in subject joint pain in our study, but the reduction in subject CRP levels (a marker of systemic inflammation) did not reach statistical significance, despite a ~30% decrease in CRP levels. It is possible that a larger sample size would have allowed for statistical significance to be achieved in this marker, as our power would have been increased.

Data from our initial pilot study, using a sample of 29 exercise-trained men, indicated the efficacy of CQ supplementation to alleviate joint pain related and unrelated to exercise. Reduction in subject pain may be associated with a reduction in inflammation, as noted by the 30% decrease in CRP levels (Table 5). Use of CQ appears to be safe and well tolerated, at least based on our initial assessment, which monitored subject heart rate, blood pressure, and common blood-borne factors over the 8-week intervention period. Larger scale studies, possibly including women and older adult subjects, with a placebo-control group—using a double-blind, randomized design—are warranted to extend these initial findings."

    Look above your post.

It takes countless, repeated studies to prove something.

I think you are missing the point here...

There was a human study published showing improvement in functionality and a decline in some inflammatory cytokines. So I'd say it can help facilitate healing

For that matter does glucosamine and fish oil help repair joints? I looked up glucosamine and got mixed results, some saying it is legit, others saying it is placebo.

Most of the information on Cissus is to do with bone fracture healing but there have been suggestions whilst people using it to speed up the bone healing they have felt an effect on the joints for the better. It is said to have antioxidant, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
I have used a few Cissus products from 5-10% extracts to the higher 50% extracts and have always found the lower extracts have always been better for joint aid. The product i always use now is SuperCissus.

Super Cissus switched from 5% to 10% a little while back. They claim 10% is a good balance between joint support and an anabolic effect, but I wanted to hear real opinions from users that tried both.
