Decades ago, minimum wage was in sync with the cost of expected living and what not. Over the last couple of decades, it's drastically fallen behind and can hardly afford the ultimate poverty life.
I believe the govt intentionally allowed it to drastically fall behind instead of raising it accordingly to everything else increasing in price. That way it would seem too late to raise it and the people would be fighting eachother over the pros and cons, as we are now.
People are now too afraid of a drastic price increase to be okay with increasing minimum wage.
Side note: EVERYTHING is already drastically increasing in price without people being paid more. People are just going to go deeper into poverty no matter what happens.
The govt/CEOs won and you guys don't even see it because you're too busy fighting eachother.

The abuse of those services is directly related to the govt screwing the lower class as I wrote on the first post. The more they can push people to fall behind, the more they are dependent on the govt, and the more wealth that goes to the already filthy rich. A master plan that has unfolded for many years, yet the people turn a blind eye and blame eachother.

It's not even livable for a month anymore. Here I am working my azz off going above full time in school and living in poverty while busting azz for this low end part time job. Like I said, the govt played people like you to hate the poor and not realize their plan.
I didn't choose to be born into a poverty family. I deserve better than this. I'm too freakin smart and hard working to be paid so little. But life's not fair and that's the way it is.

nobody got played. the standard of living has also drastically changed. used to, a "livable wage" didn't include hi speed internet, hundreds of tv channels, the latest i-phone with expensive data plans, and at one point, even central heating and air.
so let me get this straight, now everyone wants to live like what would be considered straight up luxury in many other countries and work a poverty ass job making minimum wage to get that?! lol yeah, seems legit.
for the retards that have your point of view, my suggestion would be get out of your own country and see how tons and tons of other countries live as their norm. or, compare what life was like in 1950 and what it consisted of, then understand why a minimum wage was livable in said conditions.
negged.

The minimum wage is a sham - you've been duped.
This isn't about 'keep the status quo' or 'raise it'. They are still contributing to the problem.

The real culprit is the Fed and the existing centralized monetary system. Ever since we went off the gold standard things have been phucked. Not that I am for a return to the gold standard but having a centralized monetary policy allows for so much abuse by those who control the money supply.
Change the money first, and everything else will follow.
“The issue which has swept down the centuries and which will have to be fought sooner or later is the people versus the banks.” - Lord Acton 1834-1902
“Banking was conceived in inequity and was born in sin. The bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the ability to create money and with the flick of the pen they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But if, you wish to remain the slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create money.” - Sir Josiah Stamp, Director of the bank of England in 1928, reputed to be the 2nd wealthiest man in England at the time.
“Although there are countless maladies that are forever causing the decline of kingdoms, princedoms, and republics, the following four (in my judgment) are the most serious: civil discord, a high death rate, sterility of the soil, and the debasement of coinage. The first three are so obvious that everybody recognizes the damage they cause; but the fourth one, which has to do with money, is noticed by only a few very thoughtful people, since it does not operate all at once and at a single blow, but gradually overthrows governments, and in a hidden, insidious way.” – Copernicus 1526
